Choosing a c-section without medical reason - Why did I chose to give birth this way *HONEST*, pt. 1

Giving birth is one of, if not THE biggest event in a woman's life, both mentally and physically. I chose to have a cesarean birth and I knew right after that I really wanted to share this experience. Being pregnant I watched a lot of RU-vid videos about births, other women's experiences and a lot of baby content. However - I found it very hard, if not almost impossible to find content on elected cesarean births. If this video can contribute to just one woman being a bit more confident in her choice (no matter if it ends up being a cesarean or a vaginal birth), the purpose of this video have been fulfilled. I am in no way a medical professional in any shape or form, this is just my journey, sharing my thoughts on the biggest thing that has physically happened to me. How I chose to bring the most important person in my life, into our lives.

My mom chose to have a c section with both my sister and I. We were also very big babies and she said it was the best decision she could’ve ever made. If I ever decide to have a baby I will definitely do the same. Thank you for sharing your experience 🥰

I'm just curious does it leave a big scar on the stomach, I'm just not brave enough for the pain of natural and I have a horrible phobia of needles to the point of crying and throwing up at the sight of one so c section might be the best option but I dont want to leave a bad scar

@@pupture9328 Sadly, I can believe someone saying they’re not prepared to go through the usual, natural rigours of childbirth, these days, despite so many millions of women having given birth for millions of years. The ‘can’t be bothered’, social media elements of more recent generations are such a disappointment. Childbirth is scary and you don’t know how you’ll do it but you buckle up and recognise that life is no longer confined to your little Insta world and act like a proper bloody parent. Jesus, what has the world come to?

Thankyou for this video ,i have an elective c sec scheduled for next week ,there's no medical reason and I couldn't find any real stories of women choosing a csec birth .Even though I had decided a long time ago that c sec delivery would be the way I gave birth ,there's some strange reason the mind keeps going back and forth. This video is exactly what I needed today ❤️

Natural was a horrific experience. I suffered PTSD and still have nightmares 5 years later. My second baby was a planned C Section ❤ it was wonderful, calm, quicker recovery. Dont let midwives or OBs tell you C Sections are not positive or longer healing. Its just not true.

Honestly, that is very reassuring to hear and I leaning further toward getting a c section when the time comes for me to have a baby, but it's also important to keep in mind that different people will have different experiences. I pray I have the same positive experience with c section as you, but it will be different for each individual.

Where do u get info about so many negative outcomes naturally? It is natural and normal to give birth naturally. I suspect women are getting scared of natural and being talked into C. I'm seeing it's a trend. Ur baby collects good bacteria for immune health in the birth canal. It's that way for a reason.

Just like you I knew that I wanted a c section even years before I could think of becoming pregnant one day and I was pretty much for the same reasons you mentioned. Then I moved to France where they never ever accept a c section. I spoke to my midwife and doctor. My midwife was so nice, she tried to convince me to have a natural birth but at the same time she respected my choice and I tried to convince my doctor, but not just her but the whole hospital never accepted that, and my doctor was so offended when I said to her that I wanted a c section. Finally, I did set numerous appointments with numerous doctors and could finally find a doctor in a public hospital in a smaller town, she has set my cesarean date for the next month and I am finally going to have a c section just based on my choice, now I am just a little bit worried about postpartum and the scars and strech marks. I want to tell people that the negative outcome of a natural birth are a lot more than a c section, you should do your research and you will know it.

"Not all designs are good" :D!! Thank you for this thought and also for sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences about c-section and your story so naturally. I do not have any incline to natural birth either so far and I never had. It is good that we have a choice now and that we can live with this choice. I found this video yesterday and subscribed to this channel immediately. I like the tone and the funny-practical approach. Sometimes it irritates me when I see pregnancy or motherhood videos which are over-glorifying every detail in a cliché way. Also this aspects of life contain a lot of reality and everyday in them and it is good to talk about that too.

I’m going to have to have a c section in a week and a half. Long story short I had a vaginal birth with my son and I tore abnormally and never healed correctly. First 4 months I couldn’t walk without being in excruciating pain (felt every step i took I was being stabbed down there). I had 2 corrective surgeries and other procedures and it took me 10 months to recover. I’m still having on off pain but I’m able to manage it by Gods grace. It’s not what I would have chosen but it’s for my best and my husband and I are trusting in God and praying the c section will go smoothly. My advice is you need to do what’s best for you in your given situation. The most important thing is baby and mommy are ok.

Thank you for sharing this! It's true, there isn't much content for women to feel positive in their choice of an elective c section. I tried so hard to deliver my son naturally, we ended up getting infections and sent to the NICU for a week, so next time I'd like to go straight to deliver by csection. That's based on my experience and my choice. I used to care what other mama's thought about my decision but I've come to peace with myself and I know I'm just as powerful as a naturally delivering mama.

Here in Italy they discourage C section so much for many reasons even more when you have no health conditions to request one. My gyno though recommended because my baby girl is big and because of my age there is a chance I don’t dilate properly or I go through a long labour to then end up in emergency. She managed to book the appointment for my c section and now I have a date. Like you I had my doubts because all other doctors were discouraging me and telling me terrible stories about the recovery. I trust my gyno and I stick to my decision. Also something that you don’t mention and many don’t mention is the sexual consequences you might have with vaginal birth. Lack of sexual sensitivity for yourself and your partner, loose vagina, prolapse, urinary or fecal problem. My gyno said that with c section my genitals would be intact and to be honest I want that. I want to keep having a healthy intimacy with my husband without pain, insensitivity or discomfort. Of course I am scared of c section particularly the Rico very but I am more concerned about vaginal birth and it’s consequences. My vagina, my baby, my choice

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I wish you the best possible birth for you and your choices and circumstances 💛 Nature did encourage birth to be in a certain way, I just believe that we have hospitalized natural birth in our western countries and that natural birth needs to be “brought back home/be less interrupted” for it to be the best choice. That is how I feel now after a lot of conversations and research. Luckily we also have a second option that is a great one in many cases. I am beyond happy for my c section and also felt my healing went really well and fast. Best of wishes again to you!! 😃

I’m so thankful for this. I’m truly truly thankful. My whole life I never wanted to get pregnant or anything. So I was terrified when I got married and of course terrified having my period be late which it was never. I got extremely sick and depressed and would feel sick to my stomach whenever I had to go get an ultrasound. It was really hard to see the baby get bigger everytime. It was really hard having people find out and then when told not to they shared it around and pasted it on t shirts and told other people and said I needed to be excited and everyone telling me how happy they were and it made me fall into a deeper depression. I quit doing most anything. I quit my job, I quit my hobbies, I was extremely suicidal and I participated in self harm. I would lay on my bed all day in a dark room for months. I only got up enough to go to the bathroom and sometimes feed the dogs. My husband had a hard time and he took over helping me with the dogs and he’d bring me food and he’d try to comfort me. He’d cry everytime he saw me hurt myself or say I just wanted things to end. Family relationships started getting bad and we had to cut people out and block people. People shamed me for having the feelings I was having. I was even physically forced out of bed by people and then I had to give up some of my dogs because it hurt seeing them not being cared for when they used to be my entire life. The thought of birth terrified me and having everyone tell me how I needed to have the experience and I needed to do it for the baby and such. I already had trauma from 2 years before when one of my dogs went through a very hard birth and had to have an emergency c section after a very hard delivery of one pup and 6 others were stuck. Then having one pass away an hour after the c section and another 2 weeks later even though I tube fed Andy mom stayed up 4 days caring for her and she just fell once she passed away because she had poured everything into this pup to keep her alive. I had freak outs and it was so hard doing the entire experience. I almost lost my baby girl because she lost so much blood during her c section since her uterus was torn. I was also up to my head in debt to pay for it. It was just a really hard time. And there was more that happened and so having everyone tell me how I needed to feel and how I needed to do things was super depressing and hard. I also lost everything. I got evicted because the dogs were barking because they missed me. I had to rehome several of them. It hurt me more seeing them not being cared for and having fun like I used to do for them. I felt like a failure and I just wanted a c section because I just wanted to be better. I was in a lot of pain all the time. Medications were not working. I also had complications and at this time I’d already lost everything and was living in an RV with no heating or bathroom or anything. Having to waddle to a plastic bag to go to the bathroom and tie it up and throw it in a garbage can and then for a while not being able to get blood pressure readings because I was shivering. Constantly being in pain. Constantly being lonely because my husband had to provide for us and worked 24/7. He also got depressed because he’d leave so early I was not awake yet and he’d come home so late I was asleep. It also hurt him to see all his family turn on him and they wanted him to divorce me because I was not normal and not happy and we were having a hard time. It’s just really hard because I just wanted a c section so I could get better and stop suffering. Finally last week I talked to someone who put me on a schedule and I can definitely relate to the feeling of just peace when you finally are gonna get what you not only want but need. I don’t think I could do birth. I know everyone kept telling me a c section recovery is hard but the pregnancy has been so hard I just want it done. I just want the feeling of the doctors taking care of it and then I can recover. Thank you so much for this video

I can't believe why women are not supportive with the ones who prefer a Csection. I also fear V birth and I need to calm my anxiety. It was hard to convince my Doctors but they finally schedule it for me for Sept 19th. I live in Canada and here they push a lot to make you have a v birth, which I think is unfair. Im just curious about something! Did your OB explain the risks vs benefits of a c section vs vaginal delivery ? Mine didn't and I'm now learning that the risk of placental issues like previa, accreta, increta, percreta go up significantly after every c section... the last 3 usually end in a hysterectomy (90% of the time) and/or maternal death... so that's why most providers push vaginal deliveries onto their patients especially for a first birth

But on my 1st trim, I lost a lot of weight due to extreme nausea and vomiting and got my BMI to normal, then now had all my tests and ultrasound and all of my results came back normal which was really great and my OB is saying that my situation is very ideal for Vaginal birth. I also have workmates who are also pregnant at the same time and they'te all pushing for Vaginal Birth and whenever I tell someone that I am choosing to have elective CS they are all saying something negative against it. Now I'm getting confused and researching for people with the same ideal as me. I just don't want to push for Vaginal birth then on the process of doing it something happens and still end up having an Emergency CS.

I had that same biopsy and had 2 csections not by choice, I wish I had vaginal, csection is much harder on your body, takes more time to heal and more dangerous for you and baby, it's MAJOR SURGERY...you may not feel it on the operating table but you will feel the pressure when they clear your womb and stitch you up, takes an hour.. and that is painful in a few hours after spinal wears off you'll be in alot of pain, especially if you get staples, every tug feels like a knife twisting in you, getting up in the middle of the night to feed/change your newborn, I hope your partner/spouse wakes up easily.. do not do this unless it's medically nessicary. I wish I had the other choice, I had high blood pressure and 3 weeks early, I had no choice and 1st kid high blood pressure was induced and wasn't progressing so they made me have one. 1st kid had staples, worst pain I ever had, recovery night and the first week, had the worst pains ever, worst nausea ever. with both worst headache, backaches I ever had due to spinal. Please rethink this

I had a C-section an emergency C-section with my first and a completely natural delivery with my second. I have to say the natural birth was easier after the fact . I should have had a C-section on my second just because my blood pressure was out of control for my delivery. I don't understand why my doctor induced me I could have had a stroke or an aneurysm. I was young though and I didn't stand up for myself and thankfully everything worked out. It's nice to know that doctors listen sometimes❤❤❤

How wonderful that you had 2 great births! Having a vaginal birth was for me as taboo as it seems a c-section sounds like to you. Funny how we are all individual like that ❤️ that is my main message - what is best for the individual is the best choice. Taboos are all breakable if we share our stories 😊

Hey! I was wondering how you ended up convincing your doctor to let you have an elective c-section. My doctor didn’t let me to have one, I was very desperate 😢

I’m very very sorry to hear that you experienced that. Can’t imagine how that felt 🫶 I did not feel that I had to convince anyone I was clear on why I was scared and my baby was also constantly measuring big. I did need to go through 3 talks with the hospital but did not feel like it was a problem

@@MrsKjrstad so the reason was your fear and what else? Are you from the US or Europe? Because I’m from Russia and it’s different over here..
@MrsKjrstad

@@babygirldestiny2211 my reason was fear of possible damage after birth. The birth it self was not what scared me, but possibly having a lower quality of life after due to damage. I also have a need for control, so having a c-section was the only option that guaranteed me that. I live in DK
@Youfoundmeinthecommentsection
I’m pregnant with my first, and due to some injuries I’ve had to my lower spine and pelvis, I’m going to tell my OB I want a cesarean. I feel like it will be a better option for me personally. Thank you for this video.

Yeah id rather have a basic recovery from planned c section rather than a loose, ripped up vagina, dealing with incontinence, and using poise pads when i pee everytime i laugh. If you do your homework, your c section recovery is a BREEZE, you can heal faster than a vaginal birth from my primary elective nonmedical c section experience, compared to all my friends with their conehead, broken limbed, vaginal babies 💔 and they had SO MUCH negativity to say about a c section but i showed them 😏

And wow, not wanting judgement from elective csection you and OP liked your very judgemental post when you really went there on those who had vaginal birth when you chose to put your child in more danger so your vagina didn't get "ruined"..selfish. and "conehead" babies shape up to normal heads BTW..and your broken limb remark, that is rare and usually an emergency csection would occur if the OBGYN seen there was something wrong in the birth canal. Inconvenience happens with csection moms too.

Many people will tell you natural unmedicated birth are beautiful, and they are but also many people will tell you that unmedicated births are overrated 😂 (personally I believe the latter)

Don't get information from this person, she selfishly risked her child's life. I had 2 csections without the choice and wish I could've done vaginal which is safer for both mom and baby
