Which do we like better? Our dexters? or our Jersey? There are so many cow breeds to choose from, and as we'll talk about, that choice is not even the most important to make as you identify cattle for your homestead.
Dexter can be used for milk and beef, one of the best breeds out there IF you get a good line. Just like any animal there are pro's and con's, one bad cow can form an opinion about the breed that isn't correct. Not every Jersey is a good milk cow, same with Guernsey's each individual cow is different.
Did you say Brisket would end up in the freezer? Simply barbaric. How can you be affectionate and caring; then turn around and say you would kill it because it didn't cooperate with you? So gross.
@@henrybartsch6788 But their milk production is on the very low side and they are known not to be very cooperative. I took dairy science at UW Wisconsin Madison. They are at the very bottom of the list.
