It's called a fusion of weapons. Only Chadicus is able to fuse weapons as an ability. It's the only thing he can do with the little mana he gets. Also, to balance things, his intelligence stat isn't very high.
I love Chadicus and Bradicus. I know they're initially presented as stereotypical meatheads in the first few arcs, but you REALLY get to see their softer, more vulnerable sides come out during the Dogfight arc. They're just two lovable himbos and I can't get enough of them.
Oh! And remember their completely *awesome* arc in Ho! Tell d.u.s.k?! Back to back for three straight days against the armies of hell, all to haul Vegitalo back to life? Talk about badasses! "What, you think we'll let you quit on us, bro?" 😢 Tears to my eyes!
@@lucyseverine9907 I love that arc but my fav moment from them was from the spade is indestructible arc. When Bradicus and Chadicus helped Sosuke Bosuke with a murderer with an ear fetish in his neighborhood. Really shows how reliable they are
1:20 Bradicus scratching his face with his sword here clearly shows that he is easily able to withstand the sharpness of a blade hinting at his true strength.
Monster 1: Okay, remind me again why we kill everyone except those two. Monster 2: I told you, they keep bringing easy kills to us, we fill our quota for the year, and we get early vacations
@@user-nj7hm4xn6l A classic. Don't get too favorable with the boss, otherwise they might rely on you for more and more shit. No thank you, I am fine where I am.
“If they keep bringing us weaker party members we have no need to pick on the higher level ones. Plus that’ll save us the trouble and we get the benefits.”
I like to think that this is Braddicus and Chaddicus’ canonical backstory in the wider King Dragon saga. That when you would recruit them to your party in that one, all of the flavor text makes this all seem really tragic and dramatic, like: “Braddicus and Chaddicus have watched countless comrades fall in battle. Through it all, they have managed to survive by sticking by one another’s side.” Which even makes it sound like the game WANTS you to keep them together in the party.
Chadicus and Braddicus fought alongside of many comrades that have fallen in battle by giant armys of monsters and henchman of King Dragon. These two brothers survived no matter how hopeless the battles were or how many of their beloved comrades have fallen. They have become legend like heroes in the eyes of the people. It is an honour to have such heroes to travel with you. Also they are really cool.
Notice how Chadicus and Bradicus always survived, and never once did they attempt to swap the other or even criticize their fighting? That's because the truly most powerful class, was the power of family.
The swords chanting is honestly so relatable. If they were referencing the German landsknecht mercenaries, I don't blame them for wanting three more of them. Those guys were awesome.
@@DrSwazz yes but normally there is something funny about a joke. This is just a true statement. If i got up on stage and said " apples can be green" i wouldnt expect any laughs - a joke has more than that. Clearly everyone else finds it funny so i must be missing something - pwrhaps you could explain?
@Simpsonlovre i think it's because it is such an obvious statement u dont really think about it. Until it gets pointed out, the way he executed it was funny. Also it's relateable lol. Maybe ur just on a different wavelength
You forgot the part where they accidently find out that overstacking a singular class actually breaks the game and then the entire playerbase only runs that composition instead of a normal one.
Realllly depends on the class and game, and sharing the limited equipment can get really annoying ^ ^' A good composition's usually lots of fun anyway~
And yet the fanbase still recommends well rounded comps for novices because you need experience to know which enemies to avoid and because the comp doesn't work on it and which gimmicks the bosses have.
Reminds me of one game where an entire party of clerics was overpowered because a lot of the enemies were undead and you could cast smite on them. Also had resurrection spells too.
I absolutely love how one of them still has a gun taped to his sword, just like back then in the good old days of King Dragon sending his regards and all that.
This is the prequel before they met the main party and finally had a strong team with them. This is also before the other one gets nunchucks with a gun on it.
"think the key word there is 'challenge'..." "wanna tell them what you're doing then?" "uh, no" "this fuck's doing an all bug run in pokemon sword" "hey they put some sweet ass bugs in this game, it's actually not that bad. not that pokemon's super difficult to begin with..."
"I dunno man, the last guy that tried to do that got shot, so Imma have this gun up here so that when we shoot eachother, my bullet gets there first cuz it's closer!"
@@Stoneley It really is, I'm actually pretty proud of this one. Like, the solution is explained enough to make it clear that "Chadicus" put thought into it, but it's also so ridiculous that if you think about it for any amount of time you'll find an utterly staggering number of things wrong with it. It's great.
As a Darkest Dungeon vet, normally you’d need a balanced squad for every mission, ooooooor you can take the advice of Chadicus and Bradicus and just run 4 crusaders and retake the holy land no problem!
Crusaders are a generalist class, able to do a bit of everything... so the logical conclusion is 4 of them can do a lot of everything! Perfect! Time for a crusade!
At the very least, crusaders can be healers, tanks, and damage dealers at the same time. And can function in the front or back row depending on their moveset. So they do seem like a great pick for having an entire party consisting of one class.
When I first played Miitopia, I picked cleric as my main character’s job, even though I had no teammates to heal yet. I guess this is probably how the game felt.
Nah, nah, nah, you miss understand. This is the prequel where they learn the value of other people. The gun chucks are only received after they fight an encounter way above there level and Bradicus uses his knowledge of his teammates to outwit the encounter and the gun chucks are a metaphors for that since they work as fast long range weapons as well as slow but powerful melee weapons but they're also hard to use and can hurt your team if you don't use them properly. It's quite simple actually
Yeah they gotta work around the whole "don't use nunchucks or the kids will try to mimic it" thing TMNT had ages ago. Its fine the adaptations doing its best with what it got.
Once y’all mentioned Landsknechts I was like “This is an Etrian Odyssey plug” and I am SO GLAD I WAS RIGHT it’s fr such a good game collection!!! Please try it out EO is such an underrated gem by the makers of Persona it’s very cool 😎
@@AkyJave Same, I checked the description and saw it and went "I knew it!" haha, find it funny Atlus doesn't advertize where i'm at absolutely no ad on the game but they sponser ProZD, i'm fine with that I like ProZD
I love the ongoing saga of Bradicus and Chadicus. Bradicus and Chadicus: The Five Ronin Bradicus and Chadicus: The Three Medicks Bradicus and Chadicus and the Lonza Necklaces of Power The stories aren't long but are violent.
This is why I love subclasses. You can make a diverse and interesting party even if they're all the same core thing. Five Druids can be someone throwing crazy fire, someone doing debilitating debuffs with mushrooms, someone who's always a goddamn bear, someone who has a pet dinosaur and someone who can live inside dreams
Congrats on getting sponsored by Atlus! The second you mentioned front and back row, I knew something was up with Etrian Odyssey! Love how you make your sponsorships super hilarious!
NO WAYYYY when I heard you say landsknecht I was like "Wait. That's so hyper-specific. No way this is sponsored by Etrian Odyssey..?" and it IS!!!!! Never been so happy to watch an ad lol
I mean, honestly DnD subclasses make a lot of all same class parties viable. A billion times more so if the chosen class is cleric. That class can do whatever the fuck it wants (mostly because Wizards of the Coast seemingly wanted to make more people chose a "healer" class). Want to be a dedicated healer? Sure thing. Dedicated damage? Oh you betcha. Dedicated tank? Mhm!
All cleric? Literally unstoppable. All bard? Stun hell. All wizard? The nuking will spare you from having to worry about your health pool. All barbarian? The only healing you need is sleep, and the damage resistance.
It took me a while to realize this is one of my favourite game series being advertised. I am so happy it's becoming popular again! ; w; Here's hoping IV comes too!
Not Gopher, Gunther, but yeah, he's not the best unit... Mainly because all his friend skills are only workable with either badly placed heroes or said heroes have other benefits with other characters... Gunther... Is definitely in a tight spot. He's not bad, but definitely outclassed.
So close. We were so close to being able to say, “Even in a ProZD skit, F.O.E.!” Anyway, this reminded me of the time I broke EO5 in half with a Earthlain-Dragoon only party. Two Shield Bearers in front and three Cannon Bearers in back. I only did this because the game wouldn’t let me take all of the Cannon Bearer skills I wanted, and I also just wanted more guns (and I didn’t want to take any Warlocks). My entire plan was basically just turtling until I had Decoys out (Turrets or Bunkers, I’m not picky, though my preferences switched based on the enemy) in every available slot, then moving my Cannon Bearers forward and blasting the enemy with Buster Cannons. Prep Artillery + Gun Revenge + Buster Cannon turned basically everything to ash. I eventually realized I could just leave my Shield Bearers in the back the entire time, skip the turtling, and slam down two Bunkers and a Turret (or the opposite against certain enemies) on the first turn. Admittedly, I later switched out one Cannon Bearer for a Brouni-Botanist, since having a Merciful Healer was the only way to reliably heal without using items. This had the nice side effect of making it so nobody in my party had to share a portrait with another member while keeping the Dragoon portraits. Glued it to the back line, obviously. For later runs of the game, I always recreated that part, for use against anything I couldn’t otherwise figure out how to beat. If all else failed, I just brought in what was basically an American engineering team and some child they found. I then later realized that I could _solo the game_ with a Dragoon. It wasn’t even that hard, though it was slow. I began referencing the EO5 Dragoons in other games that allowed simultaneous use of both guns and shields because of just how good Dragoons are.
Offense is the best defense if you kill your enemies with an huge fuck-off ax before they can become a threat. - Windowmaker from Age of Decadence, probably
I'm happy the series could be continuing since they are doing remasters on the Switch and PC. It sort of felt like Nexus was the last one, and it was going to die with the 3DS.
I never thought we'd see the glorious return of the most coolest brothers in the land, Chadicus and Bradicus, but here we are, and the world is so much better for it
Reminds me of when a game asks you what stats you want to start with when you have no idea how relevant or fun any of the stats you choose are going to be in the game. I usually just funnel my points in to strength 😅
"How hard can I gimp myself before my character's utterly useless?" My first playthrough of Tyranny playing as a barehanded atrophy specialist. The sheer number of RPGs I've started where I had to immediately gen a new character because I found the one build that had no attack options to speak of and so couldn't beat the first encounter...
Reminds me of back in the days when I started Baldur's Gate 2 and gave my Knight Bastard Sword proficiency because how the hell am I supposed to know that Two Handed swords is the way to go?
This is why I prefer to cheat and leaf through a few guides before making any early stat allocating decisions. "You can choose whatever you-" no, shush, I want to peek at the upcoming early quests first. Later I will probably commit to becoming as close to invisible as I can while also bashing enemies very hard, but practicality comes first.
The quality of a fantasy game is proportional to how viable my first playthrough is, which is invariably a dude with a sword in a suit of armor. I am a creature of habit.
If you think about it, these Ronins survived what should have been three full team wipes. They're clearly overleveled for the combat encounters and are just being let down by their party.
@@aegisScale You can't read scrolls unless you're a magic user or you put skill points in the right areas, both of which require a high intelligence that barbarians wouldn't have.
There are so many lines that made me actually laugh out loud, but standing the back so as to not get in the way of the medics healing the part deserves a mention since the bleeding line already got quoted
I keep seeing players build their teams without healers for these games, just so they can have another damage dealer to melt the enemy team really fast. …I can never do that. The enemies hit way too hard. Lol
Fun Fact: while newbie medics may be fragile, Medics with full investment in HP Up ends up being one of the tankiest classes in EO1. Coincidentally, they can also hit very hard with ATK Up and Caduceus. And Immunize (buff skill for the party) makes the whole party basically invincible.
medic is literally the best class in eo1 they can do everything on their own: they can buff, attack, and heal all at the same time. Second best is Survivalist because they have the highest DPS in the game, so high that they got nerfed to the ground in all later games.
Normal Fire Emblem 3H players: trains every student by focusing on their strengths and crests, and accounting for their weaknesses Me: trains every student into a bow knight because Mongol horde is best horde
dunno what youre talking about. every fire emblem player I know agrees that mounted units are superior to unmounted units. a general or even a swordmaster may have all the stats in the world, but a bow knight or paladin will always mete out more actual damage thanks to their insane mobility. and wyvern lords and falcon knights are even more insane because they dont even have to deal with terrain
