Vertical grains are so hard to find imo. Also it seems to annoy the people at my local farm and home. I have found that Menards has planks for about 8 bucks in all types of woods that I can pick through. Dude love your videos. They have been so helpful!!!!!
Thanks for the excellent information. I thought I would check out what you said and crawled into my wood storage area and found a couple 1X2 sticks 8' long. Sure enough the one with the vertical grain was straight as can be an the others well they were not so straight. These had been in the storage area for about 12 years so I will be using the good one I found for a neck and looking for more.
Del, I haven't had to use either of those but I will split my neck wood lengthwise and glue a thin strip of wood of a different color between them. It gives you a nice stripe down the middle and makes the neck way stronger. Especially if you then glue on a separate fretboard.
Hello from Italy!! I always did hear that plywood and all the wood you talked about in this video are not ok for the neck. They say only use mogany,oak,marple,poplar,etc.. I wanna trust in ya and go for my first CBG follow ur tips!! Have any Instagram page? Thanks Boss!!
