Today we are going to conduct a test. I am a avid user of the box wedge, but we will discuss some pro's, con's and even swap out the box wedge for a brand new wedge today. Come along and see what we learn.

Congratulations to Chaz and Mrs Chaz on their wedding day. Brad you hit the nail on the head there is always the right tool for the job, get a huge pile of 6way rounds then go to town. Where you lose your efficiency is swapping the wedges back and forth and anything that needs resplit.

Congrats to Chaz on getting hitched. Like you pointed out, the right diameter rounds for the 6 way certainly does speed up the process. It also certainly reduces the amount of scrap/slash that needs to be cleaned up.

Congratulations Chaz ! Brad this video was reading my mind . I run a standard 7 way box wedge 98% of the time . I have a tall 4 way for tuff wood but am thinking about an 8 way . Like you say at that point i would have to separate my logs in sizes for optimal performance & to avoid having to resplits.

Nice video Brad! I struggle with taking the time to separate the right sized rounds out for my 6 way. I tend to use my 4 way the most over the 6 way but I just got the 7 way pizza box wedge back in August. Now I love using that! I might have to start sorting the rounds. Congratulations Chas! - Tim

I love my 6 way, I just never have perfect sticks, or poles of firewood, yet 😉 I do like your thinking though that 1 push and it's done rather than having to cycle multiple time with the box wedge. Nice job, you definitely could use that excavator too😂🎉 Also congrats Chas and Shanna 💪

I agree I use 6 way on small rounds and 4way on big stuff and run each quarter a second time I don't have box wedge

I have the 22-28. I use the 7 way box and tall 4. However, I did order a 8 way and an Ultra back on August 26. Hopefully I will get that call soon about everything being done. It feels like I’m a kid again waiting on Christmas.

1st thing I noticed is a lot less scraps. Your production time is more efficient than the box wedge. Good decision!

Every wedge has it's place, just gotta have your ducks in a row to make needing it worth changing it . That is the trade off to owning such a versitile machine. If I don't have at least a few cords to do I ain't taking the box wedge out of this 22-28.
