Thanks for a very helpful video. I'm one of those lucky people with a backyard flock of chickens and am constantly picking up hackle feathers. Of my five roosters, I get grizzly, badger, dunn, and white-ish. I never get beautiful high quality feathers to tie small dry flies, but i's a bonanza for me since I live in the deep south and tie predominately panfish flies. Thanks for giving a side-by-side comparison.

Great as always! Your knowledge is expansive and I always learn from you. I'd love to see a in depth series on fly design and material selection. Natural vs synthetic, how they act in the water and when/how to choose one over the other. Really get into the minutia of it!
I tied a brown and cream Version of your Peanut envy about 4 days ago. The first day using it I triggered a large brown who got airborne. The second day I fished another local creek. I casted the back of a pool for 5 minutes without a good angle then moved to the front to cast from a cascade leading into a pool. Theres also a small creek leading in, adjacent to the cascade. Anyhow, third cast in the seam between the cascade and the creek 30+ inch tiger musky gets airborne to hit it and I fight the fish for 6 minutes, he jumps 3 more times, was hooked perfectly on the front hook corner of the mouth and even wrapped the line on his body once or twice. Still landed him. Also captured it in 4k on my new Go pro which I got for this purpose! Kindy shotty angles through the fight but managed to get the hool up and one backflip on video but missed the other two jumps... But thanks a lot for the videos cause I love tying these big streamer patterns! The trout in my local systems are a little small for them but what I lack in numbers. I more than make up for in size. Can't wait to fish them in this spot when the trout move back in. Lately it's pike, tigers, walleye and a smallmouth. Early in the spring, at this spot, I moved what would have been a PB and likely the largest trout in the whole system. Estimated 21-23 incher.

so let me ask . is there like a Feather trade where some one goes to farms and ranches and collects Feather from birds and then sells them to the other businesses that then dye them and other stuff that goes into Fly Tying??? they got to come from somewhere Right ? same as the hair . got to be a Fur trade business that collects hair for the fly Tiers
