The question is: if you can play it slow? Most people can't. Hitting the keys, one after the other, slowly, does not constitute playing. A truer or more accurate way to put it would be: If you can play it fast you can play it slow. Kissin can play it slowly, for example; and his slow play is not going to sound like the slow play of others. Your saying does not discern those who can actually play it slowly from those who can't. Therefore, it lacks precision. So, to put it another way, while your saying is true in that all those who can play it as it is meant to sound can play it slowly, it does not rule out, by default, those that can't play it as it is meant to sound, but can hit the corresponding keys in slow succession. Hence the inaccuracy. 'Virtuoso' and 'Virtuosity' are not empty terms. They are inextricably linked to music and the making thereof. By thinking about this you will be giving yourself the chance of increasing your intelligence. The saying is not yours. You have no reason to be loyal to it. Examine it critically and then agree or disagree. Don't just believe it unquestioningly.

I'm just playing this piece and noticed that 0:42 there's a mistake. I checked both editions of notes I have and in the right hand it's supposed to be c# e g#. Here instead of c# there is an a# and I am fairly certain that's wrong. Anyways sorry to bother I just wanted to say. This channel is really helpful and I use it to check my mistakes and stuff so I really respect this channel and hope I didn't offend you or anything.

@@fredericchopin2593 I had recently finished learning Fantasie Impromptu and felt that I was ready to tackle it but my left hand was lacking in technique, but Ive improved my technique a lot and I can now play about 30 seconds of this etude at around 130 bpm.Its gonna take a couple more months at least but I'm getting a lot more comfortable with this piece

This piece is a lot less complicated and less technical than most movements of Beethoven sonatas. You have to shift between many different techniques in a Beethoven piece whereas this is one technique taken to an extreme. The challenge seems to be to develop the immense stamina needed to execute this flawlessly at full tempo.

Each chopin etude is meant to train your fingers in a specific way rather than trying to incorporate as many techniques as possible, that's why they are called etudes. Otherwise, I don't see any beethoven sonatas that are harder to learn than chopin etudes

Put this video at 0.25x , play it 2 times. Then put it at 0.5x and do the same. Then put it at 1x and do the same. Do this until 5x and youll be learning this Etude in 3-4 hours

@@JoelPianologistico Are you kidding? “3-4 hours” is absolutely insane. Whoever can play it that fast would be absolutely incredible at piano and should be the grandmaster. If you meant playing this etude with those steps then I think it’s a good idea, but accomplishing the ability to play this etude within that time span would be impossible.

@@JoelPianologistico I doubt it would work still, this would usually take a week or so for advanced pianists but with enough tries, I’m sure this process can go a long ways.
