At last! A young pianist who doesn't crash and bang her way through Chopin. What an exquisite, lovely sound she produces. For those who seem to prefer the harsh, over-the-top shredding of so many other players desperate to make their "mark", listen again to the fantastic balance and tasteful subtlety of this fine player's performance.

Again we can see (as in Beethoven's 5th) that Ms Gómez Lasheras' trademark is making her piano sing wonderfully, not rushing through the score. She make sure all notes and chords are well balanced; there is plenty of subtlety in this interpretation; thank you for sharing this video.

Chopin concerto no.2 was written before no.1. No.2 is more intimate, more personal, more delicate. I liked no.1 which is better known but I came to like no.2 by listening to interpretations as this. Actually, after listening to it quite a while, I became very fond of it. It's young, simple, technically clean and musically consistent.

I have seen this performance many times, when you feel down a little bit or much is good to see her and listen to the music, you feel rejuvenated. I think she is very beautiful, but it is more internal than external beauty, it is a gift of God and a fruit of practice humility and good karma. I hope that she can do good to humanity by her music and good qualities. Music really has a healing function we need in this difficult time and age. Rosalia is really blessed and also full of the best music flowing out to us who need it.

‘Limits in her dynamic range’? Wish I had such limits! Touching performance of one of the great piano concertos ever. Richness of orchestra adds so much to the sounds of the piano; how did the masters Chopin, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff ever write these wonderful pieces? Listening to the orchestral players lead and follow the beautiful miss and the maestro is mind boggling. What coordination and temperament all at once! The buildup to the conclusion is unimaginable. Bravo to all!

She is so aware of her 'surroundings'. I see her constantly look around herself. I was never a big fan of Chopin until this 'broadcast'. Thank you for sharing.

Every time I hear the old masters, I cry. Joyful tears. It's better on vinyl.

Hello, I almost never comment on RU-vid videos, but I will make an exception regarding this one If I may, I am very surprised at the harshness of many comments I read here. . It would be nice to respect each other's opinion. After all music is supposed to bring us together. There is nothing wrong in voicing an opinion. In classical music opinions are subjective. They have to be. Some performers talk to us more than others. Some performances we like better than others. It is personal and depending on so many things. It is based on our background, musical, cultural, intellectual, national etc. I remember as a young conductor being otally "killed" by one reviewer when the other one absolutely loved the performance. Maybe we could agree to respect each other's opinion and not call each other names even if we disagree. My comment is that it is always difficult and risky to judge anything based on one video, shot in very particular circumstances, in this case as a competition's finale concert. If any of you has ever been in international competitions as a pianist or conductor or else, you know what I am talking about. It is "nerve wrecking". This young pianist is very good. It is possible that being nervous is part of the equation. She has the technique, she has a beautiful sense of phrasing, she is a fine musician and I think if she has luck (because you need a lof ot it in this business) she can make a great career. Listening just to the audio without being sidetracked by the visuals, we can hear much better the quality of the performance. I think someone commented on her tone and the limits on her dynamic range. Again it is very difficult to judge just on this video. There is often dynamic compression on these recordings which by design totally compresses the dynamic range and therefore flattens on both sides. I will check to see if there are recordings of her on RU-vid. if someone can lead me to another performance of her I will be very grateful. I don't recognize the orchestra and its conductor. Does anyone know who they are? Thanks in advance for your input. ..

Creo en el ser humano. Yuja, Mitsuko, Sayaka, Sara Chang, y tantas y tantos, y ahora Rosalía. Me fascina esa frescura, su serenidad. Ella es la música, la orquesta acompaña. Es dulce.Un encanto. No se esfuerza. ¡Es!
