Not quite, since SID envelopes always peak at maximum volume. I considered using a brief gate-on time for every push of the spacebar, with a quick attack rate, and then a very slow release at all other times. But the infamous envelope bug rules that out. Instead, this is all done with the 4-bit master volume register.

@@lftkryo what happens when you "longpress" space? I understand the concept of restrictions, but that might be a natural way to signal high gravity to enable faster dampening.

That's a good idea! I might experiment with that. At the moment, long-press doesn't do anything.
