Most American Films are too unrealistic and glitzy. Other countries produce much more gritty realistic films that are much more relatable to real life. As a brit I would rather watch a British or Australian film than a yank one.
100% agree. Eric Bana rocks. Choppers in my top 10 films of all time. It's in there with True romance, It's a wonderful life, Bad santa , Trainspotting, to name a few
Lonnie Booth The funniest scene by far. She's laid out unconscious and dude wants to describe her as upset, all while blaming the broad he beat to a pulp.
Eric Bana in my opinion is Australia's greatest actor. He played a U.S. Marine in Blackhawk Down that even Americans that had not heard of him did not believe he was an Australian actor.
PatheticGirl43 how dare you. I’m an American and Eric Bana is my favorite actor. Friggin beyond talented, dramatically and comedically. And he’s beautiful!
Soooooo many classic lines,,the writers deserved an oscar just as much as Eric Bana,,,my mates and i still regularly quote lines in every facet of life and the film is 17 years old
@@wbjr6715 Well you know what they should stay in Sydney those fuckin razzle dazzle wankers. (J) It's bedtime. (M) Well i don't want to go to bed. (J) Not you Shazzy, it's shazzys bedtime hahahahaha.
He apologizes after barging in on Neville's place, rashes on him for some cash, apologizes AGAIN, flicks his ashes on the floor, shoots him, then drives him off to the hospital. "Forget the rag boys get the fucking CASH would ya?" kills me EVERY time. lmfao!
Even his laugh he got perfect .... bana was a mimic actor also a comedian so he's very good at impersonating .... the real chopper loved his performance
Apollon Abaddon No I don't feel pity for her she's just a movie character you are the one who is taking it too seriously. I hate that crazy bitch Zarna Joshi I ain't gonna say hi to her.
@@edwardwoodward8052 no i've never heard of it but 've just had a look at the trailer looks great i'm going to try and get a hold of a copy thanks for the tip mate
Eric Bana as Chopper is the single greatest performance in any Australian film ever made, and easily one of the all time greatest in film history full stop. He is not acting, he IS Chopper. It is phenomenal stuff, and he should have won an Oscar for this role. Getting the Best Actor Award for it at the 2001 Stockholm Film Festival is nice, but nobody cares about that festival.
I am not sure about that. Make a movie and play a role when you can take from the real carachter and imitate him, is easier than interpretate a role of fantasy. He had time to study chopper and look his personality and way of expressing.
I meet Mark one day at the Carlton comedy club he was doing a sought of stand up . Not many people , but won’t ever forget that night . He had a presence about him also a bodyguard you wouldn’t look twice at .
Great performance. Best part is that he really didn't look or act much like Mark Read at all, but he kind of embodied his spirit perfectly. And he did nail Read's accent and speech patterns, give him that. God bless fucking Oz.
I laughed for over 10 seconds in the scene where Chops busts into the home of the chick's mother, chases her up in the bathroom, gives her 2 nice "love pats" (obscured to the viewer) and I THINK , headbuts the mother! Best laugh I had all week (month!)
I love how they pay him with frozen meat, hah hah!!! The whole scenes hilarious, Choppers attitude, Neville and his mates reaction etc. My favourite part of the movie!!!
Got all his books, the movie, the Renee Brack interview when he puts a gun to her head, the final Chopper interview with 60 Minutes. Fucking loved the bloke. RIP Mark.
Not really: Don Bradman wasn't really charismatic. Gary Sweet played that role but was overshadowed by the arrogant Douglas Jardine excellently played by Hugo Weaving, who went on to have a decent acting career in Hollywood.
Part two often destroys part one, and part one of this story tells the whole thing, so as entertaining as it is, I'm unsure if there's anything else to add, 🤝
@@KumaBean look up on Wikipedia. He ended up getting out of the joint killing a few dudes then getting ratted on and going back to the joint. It's pretty good. He was a maniac
