1. Yeah, Wynorski never turns down the opportunity to add extra sleaze, even when it makes no sense. 2. It bums me out that so few people know EATING RAOUL, because it’s absolutely hilarious. 3. Miller has been named Walter Paisley in a bunch of movies. I love in-jokes like that. Also, love the “bucket of mud” crack.

Chopping Mall was filmed at the Sherman Oaks Galleria... home to tons of 1980s movies (including Fast Times At Ridgemont High)... I grew up during the late 1970s to the late 1980s and lived a few miles from The Galeria...

There's another Star Wars reference when James describes the robots: "But they still look like clunky hunks of junk, that not even a JAWA would bother to pick up and try to sell." In case you didn't know, in the Star Wars universe, Jawa traders are a pygmy rodent-like race inhabiting the desert planet of Tatooine. They work as scavengers and tinkerers, picking up discarded or broken machinery and fixing it up for sale. In fact, they were the ones that sold R2 and 3PO to the Skywalkers in A New Hope.
