Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Grand Funk Railroad. Grand Funk formed in Flint, Michigan in 1969 and became very popular/influential in the early/mid-1970s with their own brand of heavy blues-rock riffing and twisted-triad progressions from classic rock guitar legend Mark Farner - who played with the group until the late 1990s. The guitar position has been filled by Bruce Kulick (of KISS fame) for over twenty years and Grand Funk remains active to this day.
This lesson features an assortment of interesting chord-based and rhythm guitar ideas pulled from four classic Grand Funk albums, and include lesser-known/fan favorites such as ''Hooray,' 'Save The Land,' 'Hooked On Love,' 'Sin's A Good Man's Brother,' 'Paranoid,' and 'Aimless Lady' - to name a few. Mark is a master at blending regular chords with twisted triads in his music, as this lesson explores and demonstrates throughout.
Needless to say, if you're a Grand Funk fan, a fan of classic rock guitar, or a player searching for some new chord-based and rhythm guitar ideas to explore - this lesson is totally for you!
