Check out Dominic Miller's version from one of his earlier solo albums. I think it's called Shapes. Really cool. His rendition of "shape of my heart" there is my favourite.

Ok... revelation... "Strange Wings" is one of my favourite Savatage tunes. I never thought it was in "whole-step-down" standard tuning. Mind properly blown. And now that I've recovered (somewhat)... would you be willing to please-please have a go at the riff from "Another Way" from 1998's awesome "The Wake of Magellan"? I've been trying to get my head around it (supposedly it sits somewhere in B...), but I can't figure it out! A couple of live recordings by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra have not helped...

Nice PRS. I worked for the company for a while and got a USA Core Tremonti as my 2 years of service guitar. Paid peanuts. Sad Vinnie hasnt been able to put anything out in the past 30 plus years. I used to have that instructional VHS. Read Bobby Rocks book of how Vinnie made him re-record all his drums. What a nightmare! Always loved the marriage of Horror and Metal bands on the soundtracks. 🤘

Eric Satie was a Swiss composer who was actually fairly well respected, like say Tom Waits. A composer of ballets with the Ballet Russe along with Stravinsky & their set designer Picasso. He was groundbreaking who's music was the score for the Marx Brother's "Night at the Opera." Satie rose to modern fame on Blood Sweat & Tears 2nd Album in the late 60's, and the release of his complete piano works in the mid-70's. He's popular in electronica, and performed widely.

I had been playing the LAGA version and I really like your insights here. Great stuff. I love to practice classical on my guitar with a drum machine and this piece due to the space between the notes feels good with a good rhythm going.

Only got to see them once at the '97 RocknBlues biker festival in the UK. They came on at about 1am and the generator broke half way through the set. By the time they'd finished it was about 4am. Awesome place, a natural amphitheatre set in rolling hills. Somehow everyone stayed up and went back to their tents happy.

Try to make a lesson about the chords and licks used by the band SKY, which they did this song also which I prefer their version of this song. SKY used a lot of classical phrasing with synths new age type of sections. Watch the DVD live concerts of SKY you will be obsessed on the drummers looks.
