Chordplay - The Chords Of Judas Priest

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Judas Priest. As mentioned in the video, this episode is long overdue but I did put together a Three-For-All for Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing during Metal Month last year, so this time we're hitting some of their chords and rhythm work in this one.
This lesson tackles some classic heavy metal riffs/ideas and the bulk of this material centers around Priest's classic "breakout period" in the early/mid-1980s. This includes the highly influential albums Point Of Entry, Screaming For Vengeance, and Defenders Of The Faith, which were released between 1981-1984.
The song-based examples in this lesson include timeless Priest standards such as 'Screaming For Vengeance,' 'Heading Out To The Highway,' 'Electric Eye,' 'Bloodstone,' and many more! So if you're a Priest fan there's plenty to sink your teeth into hiding in this lesson, but for newcomers and viewers that aren't familiar with the classic era of Judas Priest's music - this lesson is for you!
Judas Priest has been together since 1969 and has a lot of albums/material under their belt - we had to start somewhere, so I chose to center this lesson focusing on my favorite era/period of Priest's music.
Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!

Love seeing Priest get some love… for whatever reason they get overlooked by many Guitar centric channels (I knew from a video you did a while ago you had always planned to do one so I don’t include you with the “ignore Priest” crowd). Tipton and Downing had such a profound influence on metal and even hard rock that I’m surprised more people don’t delve deeper into them as influential artists. But alas, you did an amazing job and your playing is spot on. Add: I think if most guitarists actually studied Glenn’s playing they would be amazed at his phrasing and melody abilities as well as outright speed licks … he had it all actually.
