I feel do fortunate to have been the 15 year old with a cassette Walkman back in the day…. When you were definitely a “Rebel” if you listen to this stuff. Today…. I teach guitar ( im near 60 years old) JP still does it for me ! 🎸❤️👍

This song and album is a masterpiece! The teenage prodigy Simon Phillips is absolutely incredible on this album, the only album he made with Judas Priest.
You are absolutely right and that’s a little known (I don’t know how!🤷♂️) Priest factoid. And, we all know how genius Simon is… a perfect fit for Priest at the perfect time.
A part of me wishes I was growing up around those times, another part of me is glad I was born 1999 because I grew up with the Internet.. So I was able to listen to tons and tons of older and current music for free, with online encyclopedias telling me all about the different bands and whatnot. I learned about Judas Priest from the Internet, listened to them on the Internet and became a huge fan. I have yet to go to a Judas Priest concert.. I have to before it's too late! Same for movies and games, the Internet really helped me find them and learn about them. Most modern music really doesn't do it for me, unless you're talking modern metal. And some modern movies and games are good but some..? Ehhh.
The great Simon Phillips on drums, definitely one of my biggest influences as a kid just starting to play in 86, I was 8 years old, trying to follow this.
Love this album, I remember when I first heard it around 1983, my school friend heard it from his parents and loved it and he then introduced me to Priest, Happy Days!!!
I first heard them in 77 & nobody thought they'd make it big in NYC but a few of us. I turned on a DJ at WFUV to them. It's from Fordham University in the bad ass Bronx.

I have been listening to this song for the better part of 36 years now and each time its has been more than listening pleasure, it has been an experience. Particularly moving is the bridge part starting at 3:10 until 4:53. Just incredible stuff for 1977! 70s era Priest Rules with Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin and Stained Class. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is my all time favourite Metal song in existence and also is an experience every time to listen to it.
