In no doubt the sickest drummer there is period!... It's really cool that he sometimes plays along with the guitar riffs and then changes back to hes sick rythm and so on for enternety!!
Who cares who is better all I know is that this is some kick ass drumming. This is all I see anymore people bickering and arguing on here shut up or be positive!
We all known which drummer is more technically advanced, but that that doesn't make one a greater musician than the other. Both Lars and Chris are different. Can we agree that both Metallica and Lamb of God are amazing bands?!?!?
I don't understand why people fight on who's the better drummer! Everyone has their own style and Chris has a awesome style of playing, a lot of groove and is fast! This is not his best by far, he id one of the best drummer's out there period!!! \m/ \m/
I think we are hearing a completely different recording from what those mics are recording. Pretty much nothing is leveled right. If you ask me, it's actually an open air mic barely picking up the bass.
Chris is good, LOG is usually a good choice, but check out Hannes Grossmann for example. I tend to get really bored with Chris's drumming but it suits the band perfectly. /watch?v=MpfHULzBcr4
I notice that most of the comments that are critical of a particular musician come from non musicians. What gives all those idiots the right to open their mouth? How can anyone gauge the difficulty of the drums from a particular style if they don't know how to play any style?? I guess all those idiots measure someone's talent on the financial success they had/have or how well know are they. The real talent comes from playing the part that works best for the song and not the fastest.
Sounds to me like you just need to give listening to Chris a rest for a bit lol.. and yeah maybe a little "stock" ...but lets be honest, what Chris has in stock is fucking Boss Hog!
You're saying Chris Adler can't play something that vacuous, implying it's hard and that Adler isn't an insanely superior metal drummer. It's not, and he is. Dyers Eve is nothing special.
nobody said it was hard, I just said it is faster than what Chris usually plays. I also said that Chris beats the crap out of lars and that I believe he is a much better drummer. I guess some people can't read.
In Lars defense I don't think Chris Adler can do double bass as fast as Lars does in Dyers Eve but on every other aspect Adler beats the crap out of Lars. so yes I believe Adler is a much better drummer, but not all Metallica stuff is bad or that easy to play. and yes I can play most metallica stuff and not so many LOG songs, not too complicated just not enough stamina to keep up with the continuous double bass.
Dyers eve is a faster bpm than most LOG songs, that said, I still consider Adler a better drummer by a lot. those idiots replying to my comment need to learn how to read. Not every double bass drummer uses the heel toe method to gain speed, George kollias doesn't and he is extremely fast (faster than Adler will ever be) Gene Hoglan is the same way, Dave Lombardo, I can go on but that should suffice, all of them faster than Adler by miles, it's not about speed idiots it's about groove!!
So lemme get this straight: you came all the way from where you were to this video just to tell a bunch of people who, by the way, most likely won't agree with you that Gene Hoglan is a better drummer than Chris Adler. Seems legit...
how long will take for people to realise that there is no 'best drummer in the world' there are simply too many drummers, too man styles, too many tempos, and too many techniques. no one can master them all, there are too many variables. chris is a very good drummer, he is up there on the list for sure, but there are others from other genres of music who are better in there style also.
Like I always liked chris, but he hasnt done anything new in forever. All his parts are pretty stock, ESPECIALLY his fills. LIke the guys fantastic, he just has started to bore me as of late. Matt Halpern has been my guy lately.
