Let’s not act like Tua was totally ignorant to the fact that there would be an enormous amount of pressure, and distraction for your yourself AND your TEAMMATES if he chooses to NOT deflect this question. Canty’s mentality: If Tua wins a SB- He had Reek and Waddle. If Tua wins MVP- He had Reek and Waddle. If Miami don’t make playoffs- It’s because of Tua. That was not his point! First of all all of this was private, second your season is about to start so you want less distractions, as he said what was the win? In all of the this for Tua? Did he improve individually 100% there is no argument there. What about the team? Considering all the talent that’s around him we have yet to win a playoff game last season we blew a 3 game lead and he was driving. They better win the playoff game because they’re gonna get ripped because of these comments there was no reason to answer that question. Tua could have gave just a generalized comment and leave it at that, but he was honest which is OK, but it will be brought out throughout the season. It’s just unnecessary attention.

And yes Brian Flores was an impediment to Tua earlier in his career, he didn’t want him, he was pushing for a Watson trade and was trying to take over as GM of the team
