I thought Tucker became a villain when Jon Stewart told him to take off the bow tie, and he did.

I'm 37 years old... this is the most important segment of news in my lifetime. I state this as a former Republican (13 years removed), for the sake of Western democracy and our American republic, we need to see the fall of Fox News.

Chris Hayes and Alex Shephard of 'The New Republic' are explaining something extremely important here. I always wondered about Tuck's transformation into Alex Jones-lite. I'd never seen that clip of him being booed at CPAC for daring to assert that the conservative movement needed fact-based journalism. And after that booing, Tuck never again made the mistake of confronting conservatives with facts.

Wow, what an eye opener, great reporting Chris, this clip sums it up perfectly!

And there it is. The audience booing facts, truth and integrity in their news is disturbing. They don't want it and will punish you if you do. They just want to be coddled and told what they want to hear. Yikes!

I guess Tucker moving towards a group of people interested in truth wasn't an option that appealed to him.

This backstory almost makes me feel sad for Tucker, seems he tried to be legit but found out that the Right isn't interested in facts or truth. Too bad he decided to sell his soul instead of finding another profession.

"Outrage driven commentary". 3 words to perfectly sum up Carlson. He plays on the anger felt by people whos lives are rotten. He gives them someone to blame. A target to direct their spiteful hate towards. It is people like Carlson that divide people. The sooner he is taken off air the better. His viewers seem to forget he's a trust fund baby who lives in a completely different world to them. Paid millions to stir up hateful feelings.

Chris, you do work for a corp. legacy media company that is publicly traded too. I am convinced that if Fox News opened its shows with the statement “what you are about to hear is a complete lie..”, it would not matter. Their garbage is almost hypnotic to their audience. This is like fans thinking characters in their favorite sitcoms are real people.

In the interests of accuracy, please start referring to him as "Lying Tucker Carlson".

FOX really helped create the monster that is so willing to turn on them now if it can't get the expected fix of ridiculous lies from its creator. They deserve to lose at long last for growing the monster and for continuing to feed it, dope it, lead it, inspire some of it to do some very terrible things. They will probably be able to continue catering to the monster, because some people just prefer the lies now over truths. The lies have become such a part of their identity.

This is all great and everything but this is all stuff that those of us who live in objective reality and who search for accurate information already knew. You are preaching to the choir as it were. The people that need to see this, the people that need to hear this; won't.

The story really begins when Tuckers dad married into the Swanson Foods family. The company has been long ago sold but as heirs to the fortune Tuckums has never known anything but an extremely comfortable life. He IS the cultural elite he speaks of all the time.

There are times I’ve presented facts on a subject and been accused of being a democrat. It boggles my mind how anyone can’t understand that you can have the truth AND not like it. If the truth is ugly, then it points to something that needs fixed. Lies don’t fix anything, and just wastes everyone’s time and money. I wish main stream media AND politicians were held to the same standard and accountability that most of their audience is in their jobs… tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Imagine how much further our country would be if we set the example by exercising critical thinking and making well informed decisions.

The problem with being a conservative journalist is this: reality has a liberal bias. So his choice was to become a factual and thus liberal journalist, or remain conservative and stop being a journalist. He want for the money and started lying. Hoping it lands him bankrupt and in jail.

As soon as Tucker found out that he could make more money by telling the far right exactly what they WANT to hear, all of this talk went away. He was NEVER pro integrity, he only said that in a BUSINESS sense, he thought that a lying network would fail.. NOT That it was a MORAL imperative, just an economic one (he STILL used a bad example of good reporting though, so he was a scammer back then too). As SOON as he found out that he was wrong and that lying worked, and PAID MORE, he went with it. It was a BUSINESS decision, period. Just like the tobacco companies hiding cigarette additives causing addictions and the global warming denying "scientists" hired by big lobbies. Those people are EVIL with a big E. To me, evil is at its core SELFISHNESS. Add lack of morals and integrity and you get pure evil. Sociopaths aren't evil, they are SICK, not the same. WILLFULLY choosing to be evil for profit like Tucker and his pals, is worst to me than someone that can't help themselves because of some brain trauma or sickness. BOTH need to be taken out of society for our protection, but I can probably empathize with the sick one, NOT the selfish one. I was a marketing major before I switched to management because of my consumer psychology professor. He was the most immoral, sneaky manipulator I ever met and it turned me off of what corporate marketing is, forever. Go into a big brand grocery store with a big marketing budget, and look at the people and where they go when they walk in. It's DARK MAGIC... Like they follow some sort of invisible path to things they don't even need. Your BRAIN is easy to trick if someone knows how people think. FUX news has great marketing minds and psychologists on call. The problem is that they are unethical and immoral. And they KNOW how to get your attention if you like to rant and the type to hate easy. Any Hoser that has a crappy life and blames everybody else but themselves for it is prime FUX news material. They'll find an enemy to hate and ridicule in 10 minutes. THAT is the US free speech lunacy. Just like the guns, there are NO SANE LIMITS. every time i see news like this it just reinforces my opinion that as long as money in any form is around things will never truly change for the long term. yes we can see short term improvements but behind the scenes they are already working on turning things back to what they were.
