#ChrisHicks on #Too$hort not letting succeed, The Dangerous Crew & putting the sauce in #DruDown Part 2: • Chris Hicks meeting Dr... Part 4: • Chris Hicks on Dru Dow...
Maybe it wasn't meant for short to run a label and put niggaz on! I don't see nothing wrong with wanting to focus on his on music career. Everybody he mention had a good career without short!
Shortness lettin everybody use his studio no charge. B-Legit made the beat to pimp of the year, CNH said he gave B 8 racks for the beat that they did in shorts studio and short didn’t see a dime. He said he never charged anyone to use his studio. It ain’t his job to hustle for the next man
Where is your dangerous crew jacket - man I would have asked the same thing haha that's hip hop history right there. Keep on my page if you want to see some old school task force troop Adidas etc good interview
I don’t know. A lot of vague language, not enough specifics. Anyone can say anything. We need those details. Like how was short trying to hold people back? See anyone can say that. But do you have a actual example, a incident, a artist? Those are the details that make the truth ring. None of this is an indictment to the brother ch. however we in the false news era. And I was always raised checking ain’t cheating. So what really happened?
I've Been Saying This For YEARS..He Coulda Been The King Of West Coast Rap, But Instead Chose To Stay Rapping Because He Didn't Want Anybody To Surpass Him..I Dig His Music, But #TooShort Is Fulla Shit When It Comes To Growth (Putting Other Rappers On)..
Thank you Chris for saying what I've been telling homies in East Oakland for many years and he ain't even from the town so that's where the mistake was made
I knew Chris when he was a youngsta he always kinda funny with his language Ted b was a capper have u crying with laughter yeah them boys went on n got rich I took another road with hoop i could have been all in it but them bruthas naw Ron stay with the hoops cause your not built for this
Ok listen..Too $hort and Gucci Mane are my 2 favorite all time artists. Waka said the same thing bout Gucci not wanting no one in the crew to be BIGGER than him and as much as I love,$hort and (the old Gucci) I believe it's TRUE. But hell, that's human nature everyone. Especially in the rap / music game. I'm sure BIG & Pac felt the same way.
Who is this dude interviewing you Chris , I'm 46 North Oakland Pooh ain't claimed he was in . An short . You lying on short . You speaking true on Dru but you talking down on him as well he doing the same . Tell Bart to get at me my name the same y'all internet gangsters I'm disappointed in this interview
i like CH, but hes basically saying if you own a pizza spot and if you dont sell his pizza too in your store, you aint tryna let him shine. It dont work like that, rap is a biz just like any other biz, and you have to succeed on your own. No company is gonna sell your product for you. And when people say "Why didn't he bring us all in, Short could have had everybody under him"..It doesn't work that way..In the 80s and 90s, there was a lot of issues going on that the police couldn't even fix, why does he think a rapper has the magic powers to bring all these diverse/different people together? People know that in the hood, this corner store belongs to these people over here and vice versa, so why does he think Too Short had the power to make everybody in Oakland/Bay Area be friends? Unrealistic expectations to put that type of responsibility on Short. Too Short has the power to put ALL OF NORTHERN CALI together, but gang activists cant, politicians cant, prisons cant, jails cants, lawyers cant, grandparents cant, mothers cant, fathers cant, but Short can? Come on now why would Short f*ck up his 1 and only job, rapping, to try to be a charity by putting on the whole NorCal. That's like saying why won't pizza hut help me sell my pizzas, I cook them in my kitchen but I need a real store, help me pizza hut. Sh*t don't work like that and Short aint make it that way
I think he was saying at that time Short had a strong influence in Oakland and majority of the Bay rap scene and he could have capitalized from it on the business side with The Dangerous Crew but to Short's defense maybe being a CEO wasn't his thing.
He said hip hop on the green you know he’s official town business hip-hop on the green was way back in the days Saturdays at the lake Merritt that’s when you get all the flyers and find out which club is Poppin later on that night that’s from Oakland had a lot of teenage +18 and up Alameda that’s when the town was Poppin wasn’t no senseless killings you got your issue if you did something and everybody wasn’t clicking up inheritance each other Funk
