Lofton played at a very high level both in college and as a pro (he played in France, Spain and Turkey, which are among the best countries of European basketball)... and he did all that after beating cancer? That's more than amazing if you ask me!

We called him C-lo. My name is Damion Harris. I was his teammate at UT. He was special... No matter how high I would jump he could shoot over me... playing with him, CJ Watson, Andre Patterson, and Jameir Hendrix... I always felt like I was playing amongst NBA Talent

Chris Lofton should be in the NBA right now....these NBA and sports politics need to stop big time...gotta give Chris Lofton credit..he played lights out in high school and college...also thankful that he beat cancer....if the NBA season was still on, any NBA team out there give Chris Lofton a shot....he's been through it all and should get a NBA tryout....

Louisville and Kentucky missed out on someone that could have been a legend for there program. He went to Tennessee like Allan Houston and made the home state schools pay. Great video bro.

Houston went to Tennessee because of his dad Wade Houston was offered the head coaching job, stolen right from Denny Crums staff. So of course he's going with dad!? And could Lofton D up? Thats probably why he wasn't in Pitino's rader! But yeah, once i saw him performing BOTH fanbases were like"how did he get out of the state". Respect

One of my all-time faves. Watched almost all of his games, when he/we were in college (class of 04' stand up). Still remember his junior year, when he tooked not only the SEC, but the nation by storm. That game against he and all-world freshman "KD" Kevin Durant, was one of the greatest games, I've ever seen.

First, this is a great story. Anytime someone overcomes a Terminal illness to continue in their field of work is miraculous. I remember Chris Lofton vaguely. However, I do remember him being a shooter. Lastly, I am a firm believer that if you 6ft 5in and under you should learn how to be complete guard. Ball handling, shooting, passing, how to set up and offense etc. Great video bruh. I really enjoy your channel.

Great video, I had honestly forgotten about Chris Lofton and didn't even know about him beating cancer. I was working two jobs and 14-16 hour days during this time and didn't catch much basketball only having one day off a week. Honestly, it was the cancer scare that kept him out of the league. You can't tell me he couldn't have filled the Steve Kerr or J.J. Reddick role for some NBA team. His college numbers even after the cancer are pretty good especially knowing he is capable of much more. Plus, the league changed in 2014-15 which would have been Lofton's prime years. I can easily see Lofton being a 20ppg. 5 reb. 5 asst. in the 2014 post-Curry NBA.

Since you got him do his senior running mate Jujuan Smith. He was cold too. I remember them torching Memphis for their first lost of the 07-08 season. No lie I was mad because I thought that D-Rose team was going undefeated.

Gang gang. JuJuan was a former walk-on turned program star. Had just as much of a green light, as Chris did. Man they should've beat Ohio State, and that Sweet 16 matchup.

This man is a KY basketball legend. That 03 Mason County team is one of the best HS teams ever in the state. Tubby Smith not offering this man a scholarship, transfer of Patrick Sparks, Rondo going to KY the same year. Still believe that Lofton fit well in TN especially that 08 team which were a legit threat not just in the SEC but a legit chance of making the final four that year

One of the most clutch performers of his era. He did everything well when it came to scoring and getting his on shot. Should be in the league as a specialist I seen the guy put in work in every league if any anything his growth was a case of times because there are teams that could use his shooting ability to stretch the floor.

Dude, you are way off base about him going to UK. I'm sure he knew going there meant his chance to showcase his talent could get lost amid all the blue chip talent that UK always gets. He was a superstar at UT and I feel sure his NBA stock wasn't that high was because he was small for a shooting guard. Still the best pure shooter I've ever seen in college ball.

Fairly good chance that cancer goes unnoticed until it's too late if he wasn't playing ball at the time. Another way to look at it is that his growth wasn't stunted but that playing college ball saved his life. 👍

I think the NBA should just have a full minor league system. Two levels for each team. 18, 19 and 20 most likely for the lowest level. Top recruits and older players on the higher level. With that they can have about a 5 round draft.
