Chris Martin and Ariana Grande perform Don't Look Back In Anger at One Love Manchester. Visit the BBC Music website for more videos www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p054q63t
Heard it in the Mander Centre in Wolverhampton on a break from College Started to sing it no one else did probably because the PA was awful. Five Years Tommorrow since it happened
Excellent observation on your part. You're right; Buckland was astute enough to look at Martin at that time, anticipating that he might want to encourage a stronger audience sing-along right then with less guitar.
Yes it's clear the lyrics were projected on the big screen. And yes they may well have discussed when the sing-along would happen. They point is, Buckland was enough of a pro to look over at Martin at the right time. And Martin was keen enough to give him the gesture, just to be sure.

@@michelevernola2431 a cowardly, scumbag suicide bomber attacked an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. The filthy beast killed 22 people and injured scores more. All because they can't stand women being independent and free... The coward attacked a venue full of young girls... Thiis is a concert given after to bring people together and show those trash that we aren't afraid.
I don't know why everyone is hating on Ariana not singing, Chris literally says in the beginning "let us sing for you", they are singing to her, she wasn't supposed to join in
This entire concert was one of the most beautiful moments in music history. Tragedy brings people together, and this was another example of that. I remember watching this on the BBC at the time, like millions of others. Even now, an anthem like Don’t Look Back in Anger is so powerful, and that’s why it was chosen 🐝❤️
I DO NOT SPEAK ENGLIHS, BUT ARIANA GRANDE IS GREAT. 1. TO THE SONG FOR INTERPRETING IT BECAUSE IT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW IT. 2. Chris Martin, ALL A GENTLEMAN DIDN'T LET HER DO THE RIDICULOUS MORE. THE SAME HAPPEN WITH CHAKIRA
[Verse 1] Slip inside the eye of your mind Don't you know you might find A better place to play? You said that you'd never been But all the things that you've seen They slowly fade away [Pre-Chorus] So I start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out [Chorus] And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say [Verse 2] Take me to the place where you go Where nobody knows if it's night or day Please don't put your life in the hands Of a rock'n'roll band Who'll throw it all away [Pre-Chorus] I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, the summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out [Chorus] And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say [Chorus] So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger Don't look back in anger I heard you say [Outro] At least not today
They are not my all time favorite but Jack, you're very right. I think sometimes they catch hell for that and I guess that's a bit of a shame. Rock is so much more powerful live than the karaoke that some of the more pop-centric acts did for this concert. It just feels a lot more real when it is.

Tristan Flores Liam Gallagher is a Legend. Noel Gallagher is a Legend. Damon Albarn is a Legend. Robbie Williams is a Legend. But Chris Martin...noo is a Legend.
I want to see myself do better as well! Thank you for sharing a common goal! Never claimed to be better (in singing) than Chris Martin. He's a public figure by choice and he gets criticized for that. He really is not that talented, that's objective but I also said "nice try though" :)
Giorgos Ntoufas not that talented. I hope you know this concert was organized in 24 hours. He didn't write that song and has likely never sung it before. Nice try though. Listen to some real Coldplay music then come back
Furqon Muhammad Can Noel even sing it in the original key nowadays? I’ve been wondering for awhile now since the post-Oasis gigs always have the song in a different key creating a more melancholy version, which isn’t bad per se.
Thank you Chris for carrying this concert. You are, among fools, an amazing fella. Unfortunately, as an ex British Army Sergeant, I do look back in anger. I am from East London however, what happened in Manchester hit us all hard. Keep strong.
I agree. Ariana didn't do anything except standing there and her name's in the title. Jonny played those beautiful guitar riffs and yet he's not mentioned in the title. wtf
Eugene J Ariana was in the title because it was her night. The people died at her show so this was her way of handling it. She did great all throughout the show so if she didn't necessarily put all her energy into this one song then I forgive her. Johnny played the solo the exact way as the original recording, nothing impressive about that. If anything I think the Manchester crowd made this performance amazing. Nothing beats singing Oasis with just about the entirety of Manchester singing along.
I Will Always Respect Ariana Grande, & Chris Martin. The Eye Lock Between These Two Speak Volumes Of Their Own. 1♥️M, We In 🇬🇧 & Beyond Love You Dearly 💖x..Go Manchester 🪅💖🌻🪅
The thing I love most about the concept of this concert was that it's such a Mancunian way of honoring a tradgedy - 'you've tried to disrupte our way of life, so we're gonna have a party' - it's more powerful than any number of minute silences, national anthems or speeches could have ever been in my opinion!
"Nero fiddled while Rome burned". I don't find it powerful at all. Quite frankly, it's a pathetic and sad indictment of a once proud people who have descended into decadence and nihilism, and are terrified to assert themselves even in the face of existential danger. What about the next time they 'distrupt' our way of life, will we have another party then too? Or how about the time after that, or the time after that? How many parties do you need to have before you wake up and realise we are at war and actually need to do something about it?
2:18 is the face of courage, pure emotion, determination and the power of knowing that if we unite and FIGHT, we can defeat the terrorists once and for all.
I remember having this conversation with noel and Liam Galagher when I was about 7 years old outside of Woodheys flats on Mersey Road in Stockport. Noel definitely heard.me say don't look back in anger as the 2 of them walked away . I've always loved this tune... Richard x ❤️
My wife and I sit here on our back porch and listen to this beautiful song with our puppy running around like a little rocket... thinking of times gone in the past and all of the times still ahead of us. God damn life is beautiful.
Luke Schreiter sitting reading a strangers comment listening to this song... and it makes the song feel even better.. Peace brother.... to your wife .. to you.. and that little puppy....
I'm watching this 4 years on, and it still brings a tear to my eye. A stadium of people all singing through the pain of a terrorist attack to thank the person who must have felt so much guilt, for putting on a charity event this big. I'm not a huge fan of ariana grandes music but I've got a hell of a lot of respect for her
@@amaliamihaianu4781 wooooooaaaah dude you're like soooo totally right. Piss off and try to stop looking at everything like the world is shoved up your arse
Usually have no time for Bieber, but thought he actually did good last night, thought he sounded great and sang the rite songs for the occasion, fair play to the lad.
Oops. I think you meant to say that this performance only increases your respect for the greatest band ever (Oasis) whose song Coldplay covered. But Coldplay is certainly in the top 20:)
One of my all-time favourite songs... never thought I could find a cover that's just as amazing as the original, but they nailed it! Poignant lyrics, great singing, amazing cause, terrific crowd. Definitely teary now
Molly this is a Beutiful act from Coldplay and Ariana Grande but never never never will be as amazing as Noel Gallagher singing it never ever and you can say "It's my point of view" but this time you'll be wrong it just don't maybe you just got a little emotional because of the reason they're singingt it. Thank you that's all i want to say.
