Imagine being a young and rising emergency room physician when you start to notice alarming changes in your own body- including chest pains and stiff, painful joints.
At the age of 36, Dr. Chris Miller started experiencing these and other symptoms and her subsequent bloodwork lit up with many autoimmune markers, including systemic lupus. Her body was literally on fire from the inside out.
Dr. Miller played the long game with her health. She knew that a whole food plant-based diet was the best path, but it took time to figure out what worked best for her and her healing journey certainly wasn't linear.
Today, Dr. Miller practices telemedicine where she is well equipped to uncover the many nuances of autoimmune disease and get her patients on their own paths back to health.
As she says, "Even though that path may not be easy, it’s always worth it."

I can relate to Dr. Miller’s story so much! I have had CFS since 1990. I have had to experiment with diet, mind-body work, etc. over the decades because there is no magic bullet cure. Becoming a vegetarian 20+ years ago helped, eliminating dairy and eggs helped, Yoga helped, etc. but I still had flares of extreme fatigue. I added fermented foods, sprouts, etc.- it helped. I eliminated all fake foods (dairy-free cheese, Earth Balance.) Adding seeds (flax, chia, pumpkin and sunflower) helped. Taking a 100 day break from alcohol helped. It’s an ongoing experiment. It takes perseverance but each little win keeps you going.

Going on 6 months as a vegan...........sort of. Three months ago I decided to go minimalist pescatarian, which equals one or two cans of low sodium sardines weekly. I've stuck to this regimen without fail and have no desire to increase fish or any other non vegan food into my diet. I eat the sardines purely for their excellent source of DHA/EPA omega-3's along with low mercury levels. I eat plenty of ALA omega-3 foods and enjoy 3-4 tablespoons of ground flax/chia seed combo daily. I've already reached my weight goal and actually have been struggling to gain about 5 pounds back. I've increased calories by eating more beans, walnuts, p-nut butter, aforementioned flax/chia seeds, and have switched to soy milk because of its superior nutrient profile vs almond milk. Walnuts now 1.5 ounces daily, up from 1/2 ounce, and p-nut butter limited to one serving (2 tbsp), which nicely covers one slice of Ezekiel bread for my mid morning snack.

Very enjoyable and interesting conversation. I follow Dr Goldner and have huge respect for her and i have my smoothie every day and have had great benefit from it but it is interesting to hear this experience. I appreciate the nod she gave to Dr G and will definitely look further into this lady's work. Thank you. Love the dedication.

I'm 105 days so far on a mono Grape diet. I have Cerebral Palsy and im currently on a detox, doing the Grape cure. I've made alot of progress in the past several months going on a Raw diet and detoxing. I am still in the middle of my journey but I've been documenting my healing journey on my RU-vid channel and the progress I am continuing to make.

What an amazing interview! Taking the long view makes so much sense and is very encouraging. I had gotten my cholesterol down but it's bounced back up, and I was discouraged. This has given me hope to stay the course and make adjustments. Thank you, Dr. Miller and Rip! ❤

Thank you Rip for such a wonderful interview. I learned so much from Dr Miller. I would like to ask tnis to Dr Miller. I am hypernourishing with Dr Goldner. . I had gut issues with the seeds so she says to use the flax oil instead. To use 3T to equal 1/2 cup. What do you think of that amount? I know I am using g too much fruit and need to learn to have less or learn to make non sweet smoothies. Since I am hypernourshing, I have gained weight.

I just want to tell you that Google translate app will translate if you just press the microphone. I have resistant H-pilori & have seen many regular md's as well as functional ones & have yet to fix it. Anyway, I hope the app helps you.

Magnesium citrate gluten free certified by pure encapsulations I take twice daily to reduce chest pain and sleep disruption Because I live in an environment not suited to me that is right next to commercial hotel that has so many environmental disrupting factors plus having to file a court case for someone sending me rape threats it’s the stress that plays a part

I’ve listened to quite a few of these plantstrong podcast, what I think he’s getting wrong is he’s eating way too much fruit, which raises insulin and leads to diabetes.
