Chris is brilliant, the way in which he picks his actors is so clever; who would've thought ellen page would work in Inception; who would've thought Heath Ledger would act out a legendary Joker; Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow was brilliant as he was in Inception. For this, and for targeting less popular actors sometimes, I admire him.

Christopher Nolan has kept a clear eye (and ear) of whats been so wrong with much of the movies for the past several decades, and does is best to stay away from those issues. Although the technology of filmaking has made leaps and bounds, the -soul- of the art has been lost along the way. Thats what his movies has and others lack. hes seeking reality in his Directing, while others direct to seek the movie. which is why his work is so vivid, tangible, plausible and refreshing.

"i tought Wall E was awful" LOL... i never thought Chris N. as a comedian... Man this guy is a genius... he is one of the smartest filmakers around. and he always makes great movies. The best directors working today are him, Scorsese, Tarantino, Fincher(though Ben Button wasnt a masterpiece i was expecting, technically, it was flawless), Cuaron, Greengrass, Inaritu, and Spike Jonze.

0:32- I'm going to copy this and post it so that people remember it. "We really just followed the story, said, 'Okay, where does the story go?' And I think because the story is dealing with the rise of a criminal response to meet Batman's appearance in Gotham, I think it naturally takes you darker places."

@Wathen8925 each character in the movie have the roles of a movie crew! Cobb is the artist/ director, Arthur is the assistant director, Saito is the Producer, Eemes is the actor, Fischer is the audience and finally Ariadne is the set designer. Pretty cool no? The whole process of the inception was like making a movie...its cool...but i perceive it as the mold in which the actual story fits into.

Love this guy's movies, i'll admit i'm just a fan and not a filmmaker at all. But his work reminds me a lot of David Fincher (Fightclub, Benjamin Button) with his use of flashbacks, music, and just the dark tone of his films in general. I honestly can't wait for Inception.

I've been reading the comments on here and they have been interesting but I have to say that it does take just as much talent to make a big budget movie like Inception of TDK than a smaller budget film like Memento. And there are reasons for that, one its just as hard to come up with an engaging story and have the action link up to that story. The Second reason is because of size of a production, Inception shot in several countries and they had to build actual props for that movie.

@AKIDPRODUCTION09 Yes and what happened to Superman?? It died out after two films. Tim Burton's Batman was the first dark and serious comic book movie. It defined the superhero genre the way it exists today, that was the film that inspired people to make more comic book adaptions. So many people have tried to emulate the feelings and the emotions from that film. Like I said it was the first one to prove that comic book films really meant something and could be profitable. It was an event movie.

@regulator619 Nolan has confirmed it himself that 'The Dark Knight Rises' is in fact the title. It's the perfect title for the third film as no doubt he will rise back up to being Gotham's hero as he was at the beginning of The Dark Knight and it also fits with what Bruce Wayne's father said in Batman Begins - ''Why do we fall?''
@CID296
@CID296 15 лет назад
To tell you the truth, I don't think even Tim Burton got it right. His 2 movies were OK, but I think this is actually the first time I've seen Batman movies which I was completely satisfied with - that is to say, movies that took him in a "realistic" direction. Of course this is fantasy, but Nolan's movies inserted the character in "the real world", if you know what I mean... although the Penguin in Burton's 2d. movie was pretty gruesome, it was all too much fantasy. Just my 2 cents, anyway.

@DeadmanInc336 Have you ever seen a film called Bronson? Tom Hardy is the perfect casting choice for Bane. As for how Bane will be portrayed in a realistic fashion, I don't know. I have been following Christopher Nolan since his debut film, The Following and he has NEVER let me down. Batman is my favourite character of all time and Nolan has helped the character reach dizzying heights. He hasn't dissappointed me with any of the characters thus far so, I trust him in bringing Bane to the screen.

@KayWildcat yeah i totally agree, if anyone can do it, its Nolan. I personally feel that the villian has to be someone alot more interesting and extreme than Hugo Strange because i think they need a character with real substance to match the performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker. Thank you for replying :)

@GuitarFreak520 "White Knight Rising" would further confuse the subject because Black symbolizes the fall of batman into the dark ages and the over all view of how Batman is considered a Villain now. The over all point I think Nolan is trying to say is that it is a part of "The Dark Knight". look for him to focus in on Bruce Wayne more in this one. Rising is his rise to being the Knight he once was. Over all I can't complain about the name. how bout "Statue of the Knight"?

I predict Mad Hatter and DR. Hugo Strange with Black Mask as the hitman and Bane as his body guard. Which leaves it open For Clayface to be in it as the epic monster that he would make and Blockbuster.

@19Wylds95 You do know that Nolan never was the one that actually said Riddler was in this one. It was only the people from his side. He knew from the minute of Heath's unfortunate tragic event, that he had to change the story (because he had planned to use the Joker for the third film), but according to HIM, he has never been optimistic about keeping The Riddler in the next film....

@KayWildcat yes i know he was planning on using joker originally, you could even tell from the way the dark knight ended. I was just sayin the riddler was originally gonna be used but nolan didnt want to go through with it as you said. I would love to know who the main enemy will be (im not keen on the idea of Hugo Strange) because they will have to out do themselves to meet the expectations set by the dark knight :)

@jon1980sss wrong, it was amazing. in terms of story and the structure it literally feels like that thick drama film similar to The Departed with incredible action film to keep it the strong superhero film we want. It was directed with such a trademark, that only he could bring the movie alive and the acting was incredible This isn't overrated although I know what you mean. Movies like Avatar is overrated which isn't even half as good as this and yet its 3D has brought its word over its head
