Why was this song not a worldwide smash hit ? - It's absolutely stunning - Why is this man not huge in North America ? He just exudes passion in his vocals and guitar work
@@obviousfakename5828 But he also never cared about the fame and the stardom. He is in it purely for the music. Had to compromise more than he liked already along the way.
I love every single, and there are a lot, of Chris Rhea.....It reminds me of my younger days and spending SOOOO much time on my friend's Yacht 🎉🎉🎉.....we played so much Chris Rhea!!!!!!!😊❤🎉
An often overlooked thing about Chris is that he could play every instrument on that live performance just about as well as each of the individual musicians. On the original studio recording of Water Sign (from which this is taken) he played most of the instruments.
Makes me proud that Chris Rea is half Irish. He is one of the best artists ever. I'm 50 now & I grew up with him. Can't remember how many times he lifted me up when I was down. His voice is really something and his guitar playing is out of this world. Love ya Chris mate, & thanks for your music man!
1983. It seems like yesterday! I modelled myself on Chris Rea. I thought him and Boz Scaggs were the coolest dudes on the planet, still do, age 59. Sorry if that comes across a bit Alan Partridge, but ...
Голос Криса - это что-то невероятное!.. но всегда с нетерпением жду момента, когда Он начнёт "отжигать" на гитаре. Вот это Высший Пилотаж!!! Браво и Спасибо!!!
I loved your voice and music 25 years ago and you still summon up that strange period of my life when everything was so young and hopeful. You still sound so magnificent and still have all those crazy emotive notes that make us believe..keep on, Chris Rea, you are one of the few! We love you.
In the silence of the side street In the whisper of the night From the darkness of the empty hours To the early morning light From the hustle down on Main Street With all its lights so bright To the trucker on the highway Pressing through the night I can hear your heartbeat I can hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me I'm in a European disco And it's thumping up the beat There's a jukebox in a cafe‚ Where the younger ones can meet We got freezing Coca-Cola We got anything you want I'm moving on that back beat Girl, but it's you that sings the song 'Cause I can hear your heartbeat Yeah, I can hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me And I'm sailing on your wind song Oh, I can feel the summer breeze You've got me walking on my tiptoes You've got me standing on my knees From the mills way down in Pittsburgh To the clubs of gay Paris Ah, no matter where I roam, girl You can always get to me 'Cause I can hear your heartbeat Yeah, I can hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me Oh, I can hear your heartbeat Yeah, I hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me Yeah, I can hear your heartbeat Oh, I hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me

I performed same stage, as Chris Rea at famous music festival in 1988 “Rock Am Ring “ Nürburg Ring, Germany, so proud! I still have the poster w/ both our names.
They are. The guy playing guitar (with the tie) is Jerry Stevenson who is a fabulous musician - have seen him play many times in local pubs, when he's not on tour or in the recording studio. He appeared on Wired to the Moon.
@@santamaraJerry still going strong. Saw him playing a few weeks ago, in Dartford, near London. He is such a fine guitarist and a good blues singer too. Also plays mandolin. He's a lovely guy.
@@sarac.3259 🥰..good to hear Jerry's still performing. Lots of talent.👍 I could listen to this music all day long.❤ I'm in Canada.. so grateful for RU-vid as well. 😊
This is beautiful. It's hard to believe that Chris Rea is so talented and has been around so long, yet has not made it bigger than he has. Why is junk so popular when there is great stuff like this available?
I unfortunately did'nt discover Chris Rea's music until around 1995. When I bought the cd " Road to Hell'. and then after buying more of his music I realized thet I had heard his songs on the radio before but infrequently and he was'nt really promoted that well here in the US. Dire Straits were definitely promoted more then him. And even though I care for their music. I absolutely dig Chris Rea's music and wish I had heard of him sooner. He is " SID THE CAT".
