This is why I love this bit. It's timeless, because it's just as rampant now as it was back in the 90s. And also the fact that it applies to any race, really. You've got the hard-working ones trying to make a better life for themselves the honest way, acting right, and then there's the ones that are the complete opposite. My mom busted her ass raising my sister and myself as a single mom. And she could not stand our neighbors that never seemed to leave the house because they were on welfare and had like three or four kids of their own, each. It's a struggle no matter which race you are.

Love the bit until the end. I grew up with broke-ass rural white kids in the south and midwest, one of only a few black kids in any school I attended, and most of them are just good people caught in the same types of bad situations, just in a different setting. And out there they don't have access to the kinds of resources you can get in cities. Fast forward to today and no one will even acknowledge that there are scores of poor whites who are also underserved, abused, ignored, discriminated against, and lacking viable education and economic opportunities - because it doesn't fit the narrative. We don't talk any more about issues as the consequence and cause of socioeconomic problems, crime, imprisonment, or anything else. Doesn't fit the narrative, but the narrative isn't helping us, either. And it absolves politicians and people in positions of power from the need to actually stick their necks out and do something because they can just ignore the majority of the problem and blame the rest on whiteness.
