But that's the problem, isn't it? A quarter century later, and niggaz are still at it. It seems to me that Rock's routine back in 1996 was, aside from making people laugh, designed to do two things: (1) inform white people that there is a sizable portion of black Americans who despise black degenerates as much as they do, and, more importantly, (2) encourage decent black Americans to police their own. The first goal has been so successful that, whatever the media narrative was back in '96, the current one has shot way past "not all," to "none, but if any, it is the white man's fault." This is how a news reporter can broadcast from a riot and say with a straight face that it is a "mostly peaceful protest" while a building is being burned down in frame behind him. As for the second, decent black Americans are either not doing anything to fix the problem, or whatever it is they are doing has, at best, not worked, and more realistically, made things worse. impoverished

@Quaddafi Smith: Damn! That's stone cold. Lol! I laughed hard at the book joke from personal experience. I worked at a group home that housed boys in the juvenile justice system. We had many boys of every race and not _once_ in nearly three years did I see any of them read something from the library of books we had. I said the same thing to my co-workers a couple times. "If I ever needed to hide a lot of cash I would just stash it in one of the books. It would be safer than Fort Knox."

I'm a 61 year old white man. I consider myself fortunate in that I grew up in middle class, racially mixed city in western PA. I saw first hand strong black families, mothers and fathers who were always there for their kids. Extended families with brothers and sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles. I played sports, went to school with really good kids. I see the stereotypes and know that this is not the real world. There a so many values that people of all colors share but instead of celebrating our shared values the focus is on the things that divide us.
@jfs70ss

Thank you for sharing from a Hispanic 61 year old man also. Bottomline, morals and values are individual traits that we all have in common, regardless of race or ethinicity which is why I tell anyone who will listen, DON'T pay attention to Politics which is based on lies and fear to divide us. Your comment about 60-65% of white people not having a black friend is very true. I grew up in an outer suburban community and there was not a single black person in it. Not one. Then, after University, I joined the US Military. I trained with some black American Patriots. At first, it perplexed me. I had never ever met a black man in my life. All of that changed after 22 years in our military. My 2 best friends were black Americans. I even hate saying the color. I hate it. I don't ever consider that in our friendship. Ever. I say it here to simply make a point. Tim , a black man from Syracuse New York was my best man at my wedding to my wife of now 40 years. Jim, a black man was my senior officer, my mentor, and a Best Man at my wedding. Yes, I had two. A peer, Tim, and Jim, a senior officer. Jim groomed me. He took me under his tutelage. He made me a successful US Naval officer . I love them both as brothers. They were not born to privilege. They simply took full advantage of the American Opportunity and succeeded. And, Jim saw to it that I did as well. I ended up marrying my senior officer, Jim's youngest sister. Yes, a white guy who had never ever met a black person in his life married a black woman. His senior officer's youngest sister. And, we're still in love 40 years later. When people's minds are not poisoned by outside influences and agendas wonderful things can happen. I don't know if you'll ever see this comment. But, I hope you do and I hope others do as well. This country and its people are not the horrible racists so many with an anti-American Agenda try so very hard to perpetuate for their own selfish purposes.

it's tough when you don't work with any or they don't live in your neighborhood. I just moved and my black buddy lives in the neighborhood. You can bet I'm going to go visit him. We used to play tennis and golf together now and then. My son hung out with his daughter. I'm conservative, he's not. But we have a lot in common. We concentrate on what we have in common.
@premanadi
@premanadi 7 месяцев назад
Black people are like 12% of the US population, and tend to be concentrated in certain areas much more than others. So it is no surprise at all that most white people don't have any black friends. I also grew up in a suburb where there were virtually no black people - I don't remember a single black kid at any of my schools. And now I work in a profession where there are almost no black people at all, so I have no opportunities to meet them (much less become good friends). I see black people constantly, but they are strangers on the street or in stores. None of which would be any excuse for being racist - no more than the fact that I don't have an Muslim friends, or some other ethnic group that I never encounter.

It’s a classic bit from Rock. The language may be different, but the concept of this idea applies to many different races and groups of people. We can all identify with the frustration you feel at being generalized to be the same as the worst versions of people in your race, ethnicity, religion, or whatever categorization someone is using to make assumptions about you. That’s a sad statistic about how many white people don’t have any black friends. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without the diverse group of friends I’ve had for most of my life.

Anyway, we had been friends for a long time before it dawned on me that she had probably gone to a segregated school. She lived in North Carolina growing up. Weekends were for getting stuff done, and having friends and family over. Yes, the cultures were a little different, but over 90% of the time we were all doing the same stuff. Probably 15-20% of the neighborhood were people who didn't share the same work ethic or morals. Some stereotypes come in handy. I'm 76, white, 6'6' 320 and people are STILL afraid of me.

I am a cripple shut-in so I haven't had a black friend in about 22 years. Used to have a lot but once I couldn't walk anymore I moved back to WV and there isn't a black person within 6 miles of me. I miss my friends, black and white.

One big thing to note is that he did this special in front of an all Black audience. ALL of the people laughing and cheering are Black. He did this intentionally, because he wanted to show that this comedy resonated with Black people.

When Chris said that he wished that he could join the kkk, ....... I wonder if that is where Dave Chappelle got the idea for Clayton Bigsby????

Oooof my man on the left I’m feeling for you! Just got done saying it’s the media like right before Chris Rock goes into the cut the shit it’s not the media bit! Lmao! But in reality this is comedy, not a documentary, so I say that in jest. It’s all good.

You've got to put up Eddie Murphy live he just goes for it ...but Chris Rock wasn't afraid to come out with stuff he'd might of seen most of his life no one was off the table with Chris Rock... where have these comedians gone it's still happening people still find it/them funny like now...it's like Dave Chappelle just disappeared and then like hi I'm back.. remember watching him years ago on network TV back in the UK 😊🤗....but loved this when I 1st watched it 25+ years ago and still loving now...the reaction of the guys they know what's going on .....GRT upload...also you've got 20,000+ more subs since then congratulations next be 100,000 subs 🤗👍👍🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿....

That's a stat I haven't heard I got a bunch of black friends when I hear Comics or even my friend talk about different thing what I see is it really comes down to your social class as to who you're going to relate to, no matter what anybody says you got three classes poor, middle (white collar )and rich. My grandparents raised me and my brother on Social Security retirement checks no food stamps no help from gov. so you know where we was at. I liked the video and good luck with the channel

the welfare thing also extends to food stamps. As a cashier, I checked more white people that used food stamps than black people. so that's like misinformation.
