Simms laments his busted March Madness bracket before he and Paul hit the top cornerbacks and safeties in the 2021 Draft. #NBCSports #ChrisSimms #NFL
(5:05) WR Rankings reactions - Chris takes a couple of questions about Rashod Bateman and Rondale Moore
(8:20) CB scouting process: Chris reflects on what he learned from his 2020 ranks and what he's looking for when he watches CBs.
(13:50) CB #6 Marco Wilson (Florida) - "Smooth, good hips, but a little lack of burst breaking on the ball."
(16:20) CB #5 Paulson Adebo (Stanford) - "A kamikaze missile. He will hit you."
(21:20) CB #4 Aaron Robinson (UCF) - "He got put in tough positions, but the pure ability is amazing."
(27:00) CB #3 Patrick Surtain II (Alabama) - "He's a Top 15 pick, but I worry about him against the elite speed receivers"
(33:50) CB #2 Tyson Campbell (Georgia) - "A true shutdown elite corner"
(40:00) CB #1 Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech) - "I don't know if I've ever evaluated a corner like this. He's worthy of being drafted in the Top 3"
(48:45) Safety scouting process: Chris is glad he had Antoine Winfield Jr. at the top of his 2020 rankings.
(51:30) S #5 Shawn Davis (Florida) - "He's your traditional safety, a violent tackler"
(54:10) S #4 Ar'Darius Washington (TCU) - "He is THE safety at TCU. I watched him and thought 'Honey Badger'"
(1:02:50) S #3 Jevon Holland (Oregon) - "He can be a free safety, strong safety, big nickel; he's versatile."
(1:07:30) S #2 Elijah Molden (Washington) - "This guy is Jessie Bates. Probably the best open-field tackler in the whole draft."
(1:12:20) #1 Andre Cisco (Syracuse) - "His range at free safety was the best of anybody, which at his size is saying something."
(1:19:00) Honorable mentions & missed the cut: Chris gives his thoughts on Asante Samuel Jr, Jaycee Horn, Kary Vincent, Trevon Moehrig, Paris Ford, Richie Grant, and Ifeatu Melifonwu

Say what you want about Simms. He has unconventional rankings but every year he hits more than he misses. Last year people gave him s***t for ranking Winfield Jr. #1 safety and Okudah as only the #3 corner (when everybody else had him as undisputed #1), but those rankings look pretty accurate today.
@andrewbradley3305

I mean we will see on Okudah. Rookie corners always suck. But everyone had Winfield high. The big thing he did was not rank Delpit. If Delpit is good and Okudah turns around then he’ll look really bad

I mean Chris Simms obviously knows what he is talking about, but I really can't understand Jacee Horn not being on this list. It's like the same thing with Rashod Bateman. They are both obviously very good players, but he seems to value athleticism more I guess? I mean Jacee Horn basically played the same competition as Surtain. He had 3 less passes defensed, but he had 1 more interception than him. Plus if he values athleticism, he ran about a tenth of a second faster than Surtain at his pro day, and he had some other really impressive numbers that he put up as well.

A good measure of CB and QB, you can't hide speed and you can't hide bullseyes. Corner speed is king and striping bullseyes is special. Think of a WR as having at least five bullseyes attached to his upper body, can your qb hit all five in the right play, inside, outside shoulders, low and inside, outside, center of numbers? Key aspects of what you're looking for, Mond and Jones can hit them on command.

--- FOOTBALL EXPERTS (WHO KNOW AN NFL CONTACT) --- Why DON'T these players do a top speed test AND a quickness test? As 40 times go, I AM of the belief that other metrics must help us separate quickness and speed. Why have that problem? Rondale Moore's 4.29 doesn't tell me that his quickness is Tyreek Hill like, as opposed to Ezekiel Elliot 4.3 where the top speed comes later. Why not do a 25 yd dash AND a 60 yd run at the combine and scrap the 40, which seems like a notch above hand size, for QB's, as metrics go. It could be VERY HELPFUL.

Like the rankings, but it's not correct to say that there's a guaranteed tenth of a second variance between the pro day and the combine. Further, combine is designed to throw people off their game, so those testing numbers tend to be deflated. Reality is most guys are probably in between on their best day in optimal conditions. I get that this is an average, but for instance, I don't think Surtain is a 4.52 electronic. Maybe 4.48/4.49.

Jaycee Horn should of made this list. We definitely disagree on that 1 too. Still Both have Mond as a Top 4 Qb. I got him at 3. 1. Lawernce 2.Mac 3. Mond 4. Zach Wilson. Mond was better on a worse team against better teams. Fastest Release in this draft. Great anticipation

Hey Simms Surtain has 277 snaps in 2020 in press man coverage almost 40 more than Horn who had 240 and his coverage grade was 88.6. I don't think what you said about being trusted on an island is accurate.

As a huge Georgia fan Chris Simms obviously didn’t study Tyson Campbell’s Florida game that well he gave up 3 touchdowns,.

Jaguars have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds + Cap Space to pay some really good Free Agents That are just waiting to see what happens in/around the Draft!! They are Picking a DB with 2nd or 3rd pick!! I think they will be very Competitive in 2021 and DANGEROUS for the next 10 years after that!!
