Did you see Chris Stapleton perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl ? People are saying it was behind only Whitney Huston's performance as the best ever. The boy can SANG !!
I didn't watch the Super Bowl, but l did check out the National Anthem. He sang it the way it'ssupposed to sang. I saw tears in the football players' eyes.
I went to school with Chris and his siblings.. they were amazing kids.. His mom was so sweet. His family lived across the road from my grandparents. I always thought it was his older brother that was playing the guitar at night.. we would sit outside on my grandparents porch and just listen
I believe you hit the nail on the head, He has tremendous power in his voice, But the control is his key. Same can be said about his musical or should I say instrumental performances, When he plays his guitar, he’s often slow, deliberate in his strokes or notes he plays, nothing is wasted… he builds up the energy, the spirit, the emotional journey he’s taking the listener on, with both his lyrics & the instrumental tone, speed . He’s a brilliant songwriter & one of the best artists alive today, or in history & that’s saying a lot. His talents surpass any genre, Folk music, bluegrass, country, blues, rock & roll, he can mix them all together & come out smelling fresh & new. I’ve been a fan of his since stumbling across his bluegrass song- Sticks that made thunder with the Steeldrivers about 6-7 years ago, But every time I research any of his songs I find a new one that I’ve never heard before, his song are almost endless!❤
He hits that second round of survive at 2:04 and holds that note like Al Green my goodness boy talented.. you can tell soul and blues music heavily influenced his style
