So much soul and blues in that country voice. . . . . would've loved it seeing him doing a duet with Johnny Cash or Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin . if this was a line-up don't think i could handle it.
I was enjoying the reactions of the band almost as much as listening to Chris sing. They were just beside themselves to have him on stage with them. Great job Chris.
I’ve watched this dozens of times and I probably commented before, but each time I discover something new. So, taking my eyes off Chris Stapleton for a minute, I notice the guy on the keyboard (to the left of the screen). I absolutely love his reaction when Chris belts his first note, now that’s a true fan, you can tell he’s into the way Chris is singing! Love Chris’s rendition of Its a Man’s World (better than the original!😉)
I have no idea what the band knew or didn't know about what was about to happen. I like to think they were a little indifferent about what a country singer could do with this song until he opened his mouth.
He has been a force for years....these guys that play this style...Knew exactly what they were getting into and it helped them...CS is not going to sit in with scrubs....
The Shadowblasters put on funk.and soul night in Nashville about 5 years back. They asked Chris to come up...no rehearsal here AT ALL. When he walked up he we said we either have balls of steel or crazier than shit house rats...truth
Chris Stapleton never ceases too amaze me, wonderful job. I've been listening to James Brown since I was a teenager and Chris ever since he came out. I live not far from where Chris is from.
