this guy is too good. most people see him as a country artist, but his songs tend to more blues then country, but too country to be rock. hes impossible to classify. love this guy.

Best live. I have seen him twice. Fortunate enough to have seen him "pre-Timberlake CMA". Needless to say the crowd sizes have changed a bit.

Not today he doesn't but two years ago he absolutely impacted it (Timberlake did) by helping expose Chris to the masses. Saw him pre CMA/Timberlake, 400 people venue not even sold out. Saw him summer after CMA/Timberlake, 12K at a venue. Real music fans have known of Chris for years, often wondering why the hell doesn't the world know him? Had Mercury not screwed the pooch with Stapleton in 2013 modern country fans would have known of him sooner.

I’m more of an old school country fan. Georges Strait and Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn etc. are my go tos. Was at the Atlanta concert where Dwight Yorkam, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton played. When CS played this song the hairs on my arms stood up. Just an ass kicking country jam. That’s all I can say. New fan. Great show by all three.

That little bass thing on the higher notes at is 2:31/2:33 is what separates a really good bass player from an higher-IQ musician. That very bit there alone makes up for such a cool dynamic push turning an already über interesting guitar solo into a overwhelming sonic frenziness. Fucking smart. Awesome.

Not being much of a country fan, I had never heard Chris before. I heard a track from him on a video about speakers and was immediately intrigued with his sound. After a quick preview of his work on iTunes, I bought everything available by him. I'm still not a country fan, but as others have noted, it really isn't accurate to shoehorn this amazing artist into one genre.
