I love Chris Stapleton's genre mix. His influences must be B.B. King, Sam Cook, Teddy Pendergast, Merle haggard, Hank Williams, etc. I've wanted years for an artist to mix Country, Blues, and R&B and do it exceptionally well!

A legend paying tribute to a legend. He sure does put his whole guts into his performances. You can tell that Motown has been a huge influence in his music. He's my absolute favorite. I look forward to more Chris Stapleton reactions! :)
That was so moving and more so since it was an impromptu performance. Aretha was the real thing, and Chris is cut from the same cloth. Chris's daddy was a coal miner in Kentucky. Chris wrote a tribute to him when he passed called Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore. It's another look into his soul.

I just love his voice! Chris is my go to guy no matter what mood I’m in. If you haven’t please check out Ray Charles and Willie Nelson Seven Spanish Angels or Elvis American Trilogy. Two of my all time favorites.

Chris is an absolutely amazing musician!! Pure Soul!! BTW, if you have not seen Aretha's performance of the song you mentioned at the Kennedy Center Honors for Carole King, You should see it right away, whether you do a to it reaction or not.
