I don't feel empathetic toward him either, regardless of whether he feels remorse or not (which I don't believe he does). He knew exactly what he was doing, planned it (sloppy, but planned), and grieves mostly for himself. That's all he really cares about.

He should of thought about that before killing his entire family... the only remorse he will ever have is how he got caught & how much wiser he should have been at covering up his mess. sick people are amongst us
@Pagan_Heart

I should imagine that is really starting to hit home right about now too... All the hub-bub is beginning to fall away & he is probably less high profile than he was. In his mind, he was most likely enjoying being the centre of attention even though this was negative... Now it will be the day-to-day boredom for the hereafter. I do wish they would remove his photos though - he should not be allowed such privileges. I hope he lives a long, long time in that cell.

At PaganHeart .. I watched a mini documentary series on YT with an older gentleman that visits a max security prison in Indiana for a couple of weeks and interviews many inmates and guards... and in the lifers/max sentence section...The guard said it takes 1-5 years on average but sometimes 8 years for inmates to actually realize they will be Incarcerated for life! Sort of a shock to us on the outside ... but it shows with CW that he seems to envision exiting and somehow living out his dream to be with NK which is why I think he holds back with the absolute truth ... plus I think he knows the absolute truth may implicate her. I truest believe she at least knew something of his potential plan... if not more ..

This man reminds me so much of my ex husband who started the same abusive behaviour when our child was 1.5 years. At some point I felt me and our child was in danger but kept thinking 'no way' don't be ridiculous. At some point when he took our baby for a walk by the beach at night, the baby came home soaked.. What happened? (Dead expression "I don't know-- he got loose.) I soon found out through finding a love letter to his mistress that he had been cheating. Ladies please follow your instincts and protect yourself. And yes you are correct. These type of people do not care or feel. They will blame their victim for everything. -- I was never ready to be a father-- she forced me. They are not living in an ethical moral reality. No guilt there do not even try to look for it.

My mother was the same. My father forced her into marriage, according to her - and then she got pregnant. She said she never wanted me. I asked her why she didn't give me up for adoption. She said she was too afraid of her mother/ my grandmother. She always had an excuse.
@Woodman-Spare-that-tree
@Woodman-Spare-that-tree Год назад
@@SweetUniverse That sounds to me like a true statement from your mother, not an excuse. It sounds to me like she felt bullied and was unable to be assertive. Unable to stand up for herself. Going by my own history, that’s how I would have behaved. My mother said she was bullied into marrying my father, and even though her own mother was on her side in this matter, she was too afraid of him not to marry him. Sounds crazy doesn’t it, but it happens. She also said that neither she nor my father wanted children, but that they had to have me and my brother “as an insurance policy, so they would have someone to look after them when they got old”. That statement killed any small residual love I had for my mother, but it is actually quite normal , especially in poorer countries, to have children for that reason. And when you think about arranged marriages being the norm in most non-western cultures, it is normal globally for a woman to be bullied into marriage.

It was a convenience for him to kill his family and not go through with a messy divorce, custody battle and child support and alimony. It appears he was on the verge of losing NK and he needed a quick solution. To him it was no more than taking out the trash.

If you watch Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail on Netflix, you'll see where CW should really be serving out his time. It was disappointing to hear him sound cheerful, almost content? in the last interview. Then I remembered when my ex (sociop) was arrested and had to stay in jail for several days on a holiday weekend, and how upset I was and worried about him. But when I went to pick him up he presented like he had been away on a weekend with the boys, happy and bragging about how much better he was than the other guys, seen like a guru, helping work people out 😂 , and that he preferred being in places like that because people there saw him as a God. Ugh. I think the measure of a narcissists contentment is simply based on how much supply they get, not a particular environment. They are chameleons anyhow so it would make sense he could adjust to prison rather quickly. I don't think it matters a whole lot to CW that he has no freedom, I think he's turned on by the challenge of finding new ways to manipulate, + he has notoriety + has special treatment + gets fan mail and jailhouse interviews from out of state detectives. He's eating this up. He also gets 'managed', which doesn't seem too far from the dynamics he had with SW or his mother. I appreciate the sweet irony of him initially telling the detectives he killed his wife because he couldn't be himself, and yet he now sits behind bars only as a number. CW has no remorse. He doesn't even bother to fake it... Put him in a real prison and let him fight for his life the way his wife and daughters had to fight for theirs. That's fair.
@timeandtide333
@timeandtide333 5 лет назад
Very astute perspective!!! The Chameleon...I agree he is in a pampered scenario where he is very safe in his own cell. It’s like a vacation for him in a way. No more worries about his wife or GF having a melt down about something he did wrong... no worries about those nasty bills that they cannot afford to pay and no screaming demanding kids. I bet he isn’t around many other inmates and it’s been said he is with a disabled population or perhaps an elderly population... I’d love to see an interview or tour of where he is in comparison to where other convicted family Annihilators are currently housed long term. something just does not sit right with his location. Why is he so guarded/specially protected ?

I believe Ted Bundy was more remorseful than Chris could ever be. Maybe remorseful is the wrong word but Ted was fully aware what he did and wanted to understand why. He also seemed remorseful at the end of his life. Some may say it was because he was trying to stay his execution and that might be true. But I also think he was trying to make good of the bad he did. He was trying to help the police and families. He was more accountable than Chris too because he said “society should be protected from him and people like him and that he deserved the max punishment society had to give”. The second question answered about being wired, that was my exact question! Because I ended up with someone who as a child suffered from neglect and abandonment. He once broke his leg as a child and his parents did not take him to hospital for days leaving him in alot of pain. As I entered a relationship with him, i think I fell for him based on empathy and love that he was never given. However, later in his adult life, he became an alcoholic, very abusive and just a general mess. As hard as I tried to help him he refused all treatment and we ended up splitting up. He ended up dying by suicide. I look back and now see all of his narcissistic behaviors. That is Why I struggled with hating him at times and heartbroken over what he became due to his childhood. With the CW case again I had wanted to ask yoy do we empathize with him for turning out as he did? Or hate him for what he did. I do hate him for what he did. He simply wanted a new life. He did not truly love his kids or wife. It is the saddest case I have ever listened to. Thank you so much for answering that question and to the viewer who asked it! ❤

I so enjoy your insight, and expertise concerning the Watts' case! I remember when Watts was trying to justify that he shouldn't be judged on just one single day of his life, and on just a few of the poorer decisions he made. I believe that he pled guilty believing that he would serve some prison time, but certainly not until the end of his natural life. He now appears to think that he is now qualified to be able to 'counsel' others who he thinks will be in 'worse' situations when incarcerated. Surely, that would never come to fruition, would it?! I hope you are having a lovely week, Sweetie, Sherrey in Southern Ontario🎀

Which CW clearly is not. But I think it would helpful for you to speak about those differences. Hi, Melissa, I think Shanann would not let her self believe Chris was dangerous, that's why, in my opinion, she kept asking her friends what they thought. His life with her was a lie from the beginning; that when he was emotionaly drained by his failure to stand up to his strong mother and weak father that the solution to his problem would be to get rid of his married life. "Who does that?" But inmature, weak minded, pathetic individuals. This is why it's so critical to pay attention to our gut feelings, instincts. No matter how things may have appeared in the past. Maybe if after Shanann spoke with her friends if she could have found a quiet area with just herself and come up with a plan to ask her father to come back with her; even if it may have looked or felt silly. For after all, Chris did tell her what he was planning to do to her by sending that picture of the doll under the sheet. If she had forwarded that picture to her dad...and asked him what he thought, might she and her daughters be alive today? Hmmmm...

@4:45 this is the most powerful lesson us as survivors must learn. If they’re capable of cruelty with their words or actions, then they try to appear to be “nice/empathic”, then that cruelty that just slipped out is exactly who they really are under the mask. What you witnessed is their masked slipped off, and once they realized they exposed their true selves, they then tried to reattach their fake “nice” persona/mask. Real people can experience lows, but then feel guilt and accept the consequences of their bad behavior, including negative feedback from those they hurt. But a narcissist is constantly fake to win people over, so when they’re mask slips, they simply try to cover their faults with blame, “ignoring the past” (their bad past actions), or they’ll apologize but keep doing what they did (covert narcs), because narcissist are fake and don’t like self-accountability. If you suddenly see their contempt, rage, or you notice their occasional (mask slip) lack of empathy towards others challenges/pain, then that’s who they are. Their fake persona mask is starting to slip, and the monster in them is coming out slowly. See the danger and move on, because someone who is invested in pretending to be nice to win others over while simultaneously showing displays of cruelty, abuse, and a lack of empathy, this person is capable of being a true monster when the you finally completely see through their mask (ie Chris Watts, Brian Laundrie, Myka Stauffer).

Karrie Dee exactly! I can remember being at the park with my 6 year old daughter, my daycare children and a mom friend. I only took my eyes of children for A few seconds, only to hold my friends newborn. I immediately did my head count of 5 and my daughter and four year old day care girl were missing!! Like you said, I can today, 23 years later tell you just how horrified and panicked I was. My friend took charge of all kids and I was running around park asking if anyone had seen them. When they first showed confusion, I ran to the next person and the next. I was like an insane woman yelling there names out so loud. I was trying my vest to stay calm but all I could see in my mind the possibilities and almost fainted. Barely holding myself up. When it came to seeing my friend with several kids in tow Looking inside parked Cars as well as Standing in street to not let anyone out before she checked the back seat and floorboards! Just when I was about to go down and I was praying HARD! A 10 year old from my group yelled out, “THERE THEY ARE!!” Was music to my ears! I ran to them hugging them and crying which quickly changed to scolding them through my tears. Sorry for the long story, I’m sure every parent here can relate. It’s a fear that most wont ever forget. So, hearing Watts say he wasn’t panicked or worried, he just knew it was his JOB to locate them He was very nonchalant...that statement spoke to his real lack of character.

Watts behavior following the horrific murders is enough to indicate he has NO empathy (not to mention the murders he committed). Shannan at one time said Chris is all about Chris. She was not a personality that I think would misrepresent him in the negative, she was programmed to give him credit to keep him content. I believe Chris did not want to pretend to be the guy he presented himself to be any longer, so he murdered Shannan, it was his solution to not keeping up with the charade. He held a job and knew what to do to keep it based on performance or to stop at a red light or stop sign, whether someone was looking or not. He lived everyday life outside of his killing his family and knew how to behave. Right from wrong he knew. It is how he feels in the 'right' or the 'wrong' is what mattered and matters to all Narcissists, in my opinion, and the need to self-regulate.

Chris Watts had that shallow look. There was no depth in his eyes. I’ve seen it in 18 and older students in juvenile detention school. I was afraid of them so was cognizant of my movements near them. Not all, some. Some asked if I thought of them as criminals. Most needed to have been born in a better family. It was the most profound, poignant job I’ve had and the experience I’m most grateful for because it changed me.

Yeah he had the glass eye stare in every smiley photo he took with both his deceased family and mistress .

My opinion is in his last interview was to fill his need for his "supply". There will be more because as a narcissist he needs to continuously need for the supply and the "I am in control" mask.

When you watch the unedited police cam video, the amount of smiling, biting his lip to.prevent himself from laughing almost, I feel he has no remorse. He actually appeared to find the situation somewhat funny.

Alan Whelan I thought the same thing , in the bedroom he gives this huge smile and holds it . Goosebumps when I watched it . He was thinking I can get away with this .

@@hippielove3100 yeah that smile in the bedroom lasted longer than was comfortable. I kept wondering what that police officer was making of it, it made me uncomfortable just watching it.

I agree. Think it’s called “Duper’s Delight”. He was also communicating with the mistress during that period of time too. Still obsessing over her even at that crucial time. Repulsive creature.

Thank you so much for this one!☝️ I cannot empathize enough that HE either DID this or watched someone else take the collective lives of his wife & children. You know what my job is, Zoe, & I feel as if I am constantly having to be the “reality-bell 🛎 reminder” that THIS MAN IS A KILLER‼️ Of course he’s GREAT at making people believe he is this other guy, “Mr. Nice” or “I had 1 bad day but i am still a GOOD person”. Ugh..ugh 😑 No‼️🙅‍♀️ He is an expert manipulator‼️ He’s gotten thru life by making others BELIEVE that he is normal & has REAL feelings. He DOESN’T‼️🙆‍♀️(Well, perhaps for himself, the only time he cries or pretends to is FOR HIMSELF, eh⁉️) Btw - I am happy to hear you are interested in other cases. I am ready to derail this “Watt-Cho-cho” train 🚂 too. By a long-shot! BUT then something grabs my attention that I had not seen before 🙄 ...However, I am ready to for a final stop! 🛑 Perhaps ready to start writing the book I am meant to write. We’ll see❗️🤷‍♀️ I am getting past being “behind the scenes” & (nearly) ready to tell my OWN story. As it’s sooo late now in U.K., I will say what I have always said to my children in the morning: “Morning Sunshine ☀️☀️☀️”‼️ Lol 😂 Have a great day‼️Hey & get some actual sunshine☀️for ME since I am not allowed to go out sun☀️shine (Systemic Lupus)‼️💜💜💜Angelina💜💜💜

I don’t think many with these personality disorders even know they have anything wrong with them. I’m 37 and recently got diagnosed with anti social personality disorder and it took months of dealing with mental health team and consultant psychiatrist here in the UK and going over and over my life events from childhood to present day. Had all blood work done to rule out whatever as anyone in NHS knows they do blood work etc. ASPD has left me with a huge trail of destruction and burnt bridges in my life. Lost jobs, failed university several times, failed relationships and on and on. It was a shock to be told I had a personality disorder. Many probably have no idea they suffer with one. Chris’s watts is a monster and deserves to suffer for all he did. I also came from an abusive childhood. Maybe that wired me to be the way I am? Either way I go to my therapy and support group.

If you listen to a channel called “The Diplomat” in part 6 of his reading of the ‘The Discovery’....when the police came with the dogs at 11:45am on the day after the murders (the 14th) Chris had a sports channel on on the TV. 🧐

It was the ultimate discard, he just didn’t want that life anymore and got rid of it in the most final way possible; he was so narcissistic he thought he’d get away with it. Did he really think that no one would notice they were gone or that people would just stop asking questions? He has no remorse, he hated his wife and kids...absolutely hated them. His silent anger, resentment and hidden rage ran very, very deep and it had been growing for a long time. OK, Shanann was bossy and splashed their life across Facebook....so divorce her then! He wanted to play with his new toy and his family were in the way. There is no way to justify what he has done. If he has regret, it is only because he’s locked up for life. He does not want his family back and I believe he is still glad they are gone. Great video...you really understand narcissism. My narcissistic ex once told me if he had not left his wife, he would have killed her. I actually sometimes wonder if I will see him on the news one day. Anyway, Chris Watts is a child in a man’s body.
