Webby is a legend. Been a fan 10+ years. Not many people can last 15 years and make a living in hiphop, especially nowadays. Goes to show what he’s built over the years
Same here the first concert I went to of his was just after I turned 21 back in 2015 I listened to all his songs through highschool. I wanna saw the first song I heard of his was called breaking news, that’s some old school webby
I met this dude at an engagement party and had a dope conversation with him for about 20 mins and had no clue he was a rapper until my girlfriend told me the next day 😂 I’ve since started listening to him.
Honestly think webby just summed up ADHD perfectly. In a nutshell we can't focus on anything we aren't into but if we're into something we'll focus like crazy and also we are kinda a bit crackheaded naturally and do scatterbrained things for no real reason. Think I need to be medicated again tbh 😂😂
Chris Webby is one of my favorite musicians. His chemically imbalanced album helped me through some tough times. I enjoy all his music and hope to see even more in the future. Thanks for the interview
Great interview! Webby has always been one of my favorite rappers and it is nice to see him reflect on his growth as a rapper and human. His music has helped me through a lot of anxiety and depression and I am forever grateful to be a consumer of his art.
Another great interview Ian. Chris reminded me of family time consisting of hauling our daughter’s boyfriend’s local North Texas band to the shows. It was the screamo/emo era. The band even set up a studio in our gameroom and recorded Dallas bands up there. Just turned 63 today and I’m think my husband (73 yrs old) and I were totally in a midlife crisis holding onto our glory days! Best of luck Ian and Chris!
Ive been followung Webby since pretty much day 1. Way back in the day when he was dropping tracks with the likes of Dizzy Wright. He's absolutely one of my favorites!! The fact thats he's stayed independent and drops the type of 🔥 that he does is a testament to his gift and talent. He's a true lyricist and I've found plenty of motivation through listening to him. Great episode. Wish I would have known about it earlier, but better late than never.
This was an excellent interview. As someone who made a mistake, and followed a 'player 1' had to negotiate the legal system, and then worked hard and made better choices, I felt this story resonate
Webby saved my life through his music a cpl years back. He has no idea how grateful this Southern momma actually is And. His voice , i swear if my inner head thoughts could actually speak, his voice is it
I been hip to webby before he even had a loyal fan base outside of Connecticut 💯... not to mention the fact he hasn't ever stopped n his evolution as an artist is undeniable... homie can do no wrong
I saw Chris in 2019 or so, in Sydney Australia. I saw him chilling around the venue, I was hanging with a mate, we were talking about hiphop shows. And I walked up to Chris Webby, and said I was a big fan, he asked me "What songs are you hoping to hear tonight?" I listed off about 6-8 songs, "Good Day, Raw Thoughts, Weirdo" etc and he was like "oh so youre like a proper fan?" I was like "yeah bro you're sick!" And he was like "do you like whisky?" "Yeah!" "Do you wanna come back stage, and drink some Jameson with me, before the show starts?" He was really cool! Shout-out from Australia you Mad-Cunt! 😅😂
This is the second podcast/interview I’ve watched from Ian and I can say I’m very big on talk radio/podcast and I’m a fan. I love the interview. And it also helps I’m a big webby fan so that’s just the sugar on the cookie!! Great job I’m a fan and will be following along for more!!!
I have binge watched almost every episode over the last few weeks you impress the shit out of me ian keep up all the hard work you deserve everything you get the new studio is amazing keep going dude!!!
I'm nearly 50. I relate completely with this. Madness holding hands with Genius. We are all capable of being the strange and peculiar creatures of greatness.
I Couldn't believe it when I saw this, honestly my favorite rapper since I was like 15. I'm glad to get to see him talk more in a longer format, also glad it was on Ian's channel. Made my day.
Been listening to his music for a long time he seems to be a genuine guy Thanks Ian it's awesome to see your channel blow up been watching since u had like 10k subs
Just enjoying Chris Webby even more, he's a different cat for sure, but world and society needs the different cats and especially the ones we are also able to relate to.
Mad props to @ianbickCT for makin this convo happen... first webby interview I've seen so brutally honest n clearly not bein told wat to say n wat not to say🔥
this hits home in a lot of ways, as a person living in CT who is also a music artist, Mr Webby drops a lot of insight into what life is like out here. felt like i was listening to a buddy of a buddy talking during a smoke sess
Glad to have come across this, been following since la la la was dropped on streaming platforms and ive seen him grow while i grew along the way. But i cant find any other rapper who has stayed true to himself for over a decade after the amount of things he's been through. He'll always be my top streaming artist in my Playlist and I'll go to every show when he comes to town 👌🙏
Duuuudee, Chris webby on Ian Bick. Fucking awesome. I met Chris Webby after one of his shows in Baltimore. This dude is incredibly humble, he walked out the front after the show like he wasn't a artist with a bottle of jamo in his hand, I asked him for a picture and he immediately said "Hell yeah" & we posed. He asked the best place to go in the city & that was that! Most approachable rapper ive ever met. Edit : Ive been following both chris & Ian from the jump & I cant wait to see more from both artist's.
I've been listening to webby for years and you for a couple months now. This is a great interview. I have always related with webby a lot (born in '88 myself)and this talk even more so now. I was the same in high-school, no king pin but sold enough to smoke for free and pay for fun things to do. I got busted in 06 and got lucky with a great lawyer! Was definitely where I turned things around for the better for myself. You find your true friends for sure!
@ianbickCT, keep up the great shows, man! You have no idea how many days you have gotten me through work and made it seem like it was only a couple hours long. Much respect to you and what you do! Thanks man!
Yall being In Connecticut trips me out listening to ya... growing up in South Norwalk off wilson Ave and over by strawberry hill and city hall and remembering stew Leonard's and pathmark was just a huge walk down memory lane
Chris webby gota say been a fan for as long as I can remember since your earliest shit felt the incredible vibe the hairs stand up on back of neck in a good way your amazing.... And pod cast host you awesome props and standing obation I seen you on a few different pop cast but didnt know you had your own channel I'll b checking it out now that I do but keep up the great work
Webby!!! My Dawg!! Twist (La La La) is and has been my favorite song since the day it dropped!!! Great interview, how cool that you used to book him in his early years at your clubs!!! Love you Webby!!
Excellent interview wuth intelligent questions. Comfortable and authetic. Im a Ren fan, found webby from their recent colab. Wound up here. Thx. Im a 67yo left over 70s hippie. Im glad webby found his way. It took courage.
I really enjoyed this podcast with Webby, i like how he talks about things, he seems to be a smart man, his rap is so awesome and he also seems like a nice guy with a hint of don't fuck with me😝 wish i grew up listening to him, but at least i know of him now. 💜😁😄
Found Chemically Imbalanced on the shelf at Best Buy and just grabbed it for the ride home, was hooked immediately and saw Webby with Tech N9ne years later 🔥🔥 fantastic show
Having done a lot of study on this I have never actually smoked but my understanding is that for true ADHD suffers the smoke actually helps calm people down and opens cadabnoids for focus
I saw Mr Webster at the MaxCap in chicopee ma bout 14 years ago. He gave me a shout out my friends still remember cuz im 6'5 holding the phone up to record. Wild that he didnt blow up like we thought he would. "Smokin lalala grab the bong harder than i grab the mic" hahaha so much fun back in 2010ish
love you chris its hard I don't know anyone that has given you their game to prove themselves over these last 10 years anything that they have given any proof to last longer then you.
