Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2000 Full Show ft. Original Soundtrack 

Just recently know from reading the book Dior Runway, the show was inspired by Sigmund Freud dream interpretation, that all those creepy looks were from the unconscious of the wedding guests. Truly an eye opener for a millennial runway show

The more Galliano sinks into fashion history the more we can see his absolute genius.

That first wedding look, the groom is wearing a green carnation, which in Edwardian times was a covert sign of homosexuality.

According to Jeremy Healy who composed the soundtracks for Galliano’s runways, Steven Spielberg attended this show with the intention of asking John to create costumes for one of his films, but walked out on hearing whip cracks, and moans. Iconic

It's 2021, and this presentation hasn't dated one bit -- still so modern. Genius is timeless.

Now i understand why they critize so much Maria Grazia, this is simply so much beyond just fashion, the richness and soul in the clothes and the presentation, there will never be someone like John Galliano again. I truly think Dior should hire John again, that would make History and would bring the house of Dior to a place that only had during John Gallianos era, it was simply magical.

Dior will never be the same without gallino. 3:55 is carmen dell'orefice, she is now 88 years old, the oldest working model in the industry. 12:06 is Debra shaw, exquisite supermodel! She wore that black mask with crucifix on it and stuck her tounge out on the runway for Alexander mcqueen's dante, and she was superb im muglers shows! There both still working to this day!

Galliano took the music of the opening from Stanley Kubrick's Eye Wide Shut (1999) and then the two girls referenced the creepy twins in The Shining with many other movie allusions...

The intro music belongs to Orange Clockwork (1971) and to the ritual scene of "Eyes Wide Shut" (1999). 02:11 The twin girls to "The Shining" (1980). 10:33 The outfit tribute To Espartaco movie (1960). 09:30 The model is Sophie Dahl and 14:31 to "Psycho " soudtrack (1968) by Alfred Hitchcock. 11:47 A Barry Lyndon (1975, Stanley Kubrick) outfit.

Watching in 2019, still holds up & makes current haute couture collections look boring AF. Love the continuity of the deconstructed/reconstructed corsets throughout. The soundtrack MADE it. Thanks for getting a hold of this original version.

Galliano is a genius this is Art at his finest.

I miss this genius everyday. Dior will never be what it was during the Galliano years. We will never see this kind of theater again. McQueen and Galliano were couture and theater.

This collection is so beyond even in 2024 is very relevant.
