@@yuvraj6422 Agree with u, like very chingon and all, but I can't see that great jacket without thinking these foxes would have been killed for that, thankfully most people now prefer to wear "cruelty free" products.
Honestly this show was so iconic. From the beautiful florals, the pastel couture, to the falling model at 4:45, to the shoes, the makeup, the everybody basically tripping every 17 seconds, to the Japanese influences, the furs, to the protestor being dragged by her legs and having her head bashed against the catwalk...
David Loaeza yeah models aren't special anymore. They don't have that confidence that make these shows memorable. That's what happens when your models are cast from instagram and reality tv shows.
I probably watch this show once a month if not more lol. This is ready to wear, and it looks more haute couture than the haute couture collections Maria Grazia puts out today. The first model coming out strutting hard 🙌🏽 I could cry lol. I hope Dior finds a creative director that fits their aesthetic
Recently Naomi and Karli Kloss talked about how magic it was to walk in Galliano's and McQueen's shows. They felt special and they were invited to wear pieces of art on those runways. Pure fantasy and art
The models literally participated in history, I can't imagine how lucky they must feel to have been part of so many iconic moments. Take Mariacarla for example, she's here in this show, and she just walked in the last Schiaparelli Haute Couture show in 2022. She alone has been in more iconic shows than I can count, by practically every great designer of the 21st century.
This show had everything. Raquel, MariaCarla, Daria in green latex, Alex Wek stumbling, Oluchi, Adina Fohlin closing, that PETA protester, that purple fur, that one model's overtly sexual walk. I love it.
So many iconic supermodels in this one show. Karolina Kurkova, Mariacarla Boscono, Raquel Zimmermann, Alek Wek, Oluchi Onweagba, Ana Beatriz, Eugenia Volodina, among others. Absolutely miss this era in fashion and modelling.
Eva Jay Kubatova, Inga Savits, Ai Tominaga, Kasia Pysiak, Erin O'Connor, Liisa Winkler, Hedvig Marie Maigre, Stella Tennant, Diana Gartner, Nicola Breytenbach, Jacquetta Wheeler, Liya Kebede, Frankie Rayder, Angela Lindvall!
LOVE this show. You can tell the models is feeling cunty! Galliano era will always have a spot in my heart. We're currently going under the minimalism peak of fashion and pretty soon we'll be back to such extravagant couture soon.
Anthony Aguilar I agree that normcore is FINALLY starting to go away but I don't find the trashy and clown-like new Gucci era much better. Galliano for Dior shows were over the top but individual pieces were still wearable and beautiful. Now just to counteract horrendous normcore, people are wearing the other extreme...a mishmash of ugly nonsense!
Hope so . Nowadays whenever I want to sleep I'll see some fashion shows in which ""women"" MODELS ?? are basically .... like men . BORRRRRRING .....then I go to sleep .
And let's not forget the iconic blue gigantic jacket she wore at Dior couture fall 2002 serving Marilyn realness, and the ruffle dress in which she performed can can in couture fall 2003 too
The ever so gorgeous queen Karolina slayed here once again - she glides across the runway here owning the stage. She never ever dissapointed or had a poor /lazy walk in her 20+ years modelling career. Can't believe how she's been forgotten about once her modelling career slowed down. She's more than an icon!
When you realize last decade was going to be the 2010s soon and this show will be 20 years old in no time, yet it still had a lot of pieces i desire to wear
@@yuvraj6422 No, I think that we have killed animals and worn them since we lived in caves thousands of years ago, and I think people today make too much of an issue over it. Real fur or not, these clothes are absolutely beautiful. I tend not to think about it past that. Humans kill animals, that is the sad reality of it.
@@yuvraj6422 You say all of this but I doubt you’ve ever taken direct action for those animals … as the OC said, humans kill animals, that is a reality, however giving your two cents about real fur is not going to save one animal … peta has spent millions on protests and demonstrations, yet they’ve done nothing!! Accept what it is and don’t let the poor animal’s fur go to waste!
2:17 Isn't it so funny that the soundtrack says 'take me down six underground - the ground beneath your feet' that very moment LOL? This show is so iconic.
actually, back when this came out, people were complaining that these were freaks who can't walk, it all goes in circles... style changes, and nostalgia takes over
these girls are working it! John Galliano is the best. he knows how to put on a show! sadly, we no longer have any fashion shows like these Dior shows.
The irony with how that Peta stunt backfired is that the subsequent model coming out and giving us that SERVE 2:25 is probably the most iconic moment of fur on the runway still referenced today
5:25 I love this look. The tight mini skirts worn over those flowing silk dresses is just genius, and the latex top that goes all the way to her face, it's so unconventional but so beautiful. What a mixture of fabrics and textures that just works.
@@Sonmmmxuan Yes, and you can break it apart into several different styles. Remove the dress, you have a beautiful top and skirt. Remove the top and skirt, beautiful dress. It's styling at its finest.
It’s so good, and really brought to life with Queen of Cool Daria in her Dior debut, I feel like it would not have had the same effect if somelike like Elise modeled it on the runway
7:05 Alek Wek when she suddenly had a Raven vision and saw that her legacy, Adut Akech has to walk next to some mediocre white model named Sofia Steinberg
she probably wore something from this collection, some early 00's galliano collections for dior give me that 'rich l.a girl' vibe, so you can totally relate it to paris!
Her legs are thin and that powerful stomp could easily stab and glide into the mouth of models who charge a huge cheque for no fucking talent and high insta follow rate.
Yip deffo... Karolina was gliding across the floor unlike the others who were too stiff like. She always slays and owns the runway. Legend and always an icon. Better than Gisele.
ESPECTACULAR SHOW, AMAZING STYLING AND MUSIC AND COMPLETE WITH THE FUR PROTEST AND THE FALL DOWS OF A MODEL AND THE MISTEP OF ALEK WEK. SOUNDRTRACK PLAYLIST: La Nuit de la Saint Barthlemy (sped up) - Goran Bregovic Take Me Down (Bini & Martini's Old Skool Mix) - Eclipse Staring at the sun (Brothers In Rythem mix) - U2 Ya Ya (Ringe Ringe Raja) - Goran Bregovic (played with U2 song) At the end (Scumfrog mix) - Iio Familiar Feeling - Moloko
I think Christian Dior shows are the most well thought out... Always very engaging and maintain a certain Dior thing that is soo unique and signature to them
Although this is RTW and not couture, Galliano is truly on another level. Having visited this channel countless times, I still reminisce about his amazing work!
