Superb! My chops hurt just thinking about fininshing a recital on a high D... I would probably feel stiff before the end of the first piece. I don't know how I could play recitals 25 years ago, while Christian Lindbeg doesn't seem to have lost anything since his debut. I guess this is what one calls talent + perseverance... Bravo!

I have played the Trombone for 35 years and Christian Lindberg was the biggest influence in my playing as a child. I played the Gordon Jacob trombone concerto once and another musician approached me and said I sounded Like Christian Lindberg a little bit. I responded by saying " That's what years of trying to copy him as a child will do to you " lol. Not saying I'm anywhere near as good but it's funny how much influence someone like Christian lindberg can have on someone growing up and learning the instrument.

Thank you for posting.He's still great.I really love your soft & natural trombone sound.I like the romantic music like Tchaikovsky,Brahms,Beethoven misics,David,Rimsky korschakov,Ernest schse trombone concertos. I hope you publish the albums like romantic musics or gospel music. When I check your past albums,Most of musics in your albums are like modern music.I couldn't be touched from its.That's sad for your great trombone sound. I listen to the album " Christmas with the Canadian Brass" very often. Would you make the Gospel music album with accomponiment piano like that album Canadian brass? I hope you make romantic & gospel misics more than Modern musics.

What's the thing he had on his bell?
@pwnedd11
@pwnedd11 4 года назад
It's a Christian Lindbergh Resistance Balancer!!! They're no longer in production, so they can be tough to find... but if you look hard enough, you'll be able to get them! It's a cloth-like thing that goes around the bell, and there are two brass pieces you can insert into it. It puts more weight on the bell, and it does alter the sound. But after using mine, I don't know if it's really beneficial. There's two sizes, and you can put in and take away the brass pieces for different effects. But the reason they have never caught on is that you're better off altering your tone on your own. They were also made more for Conn 88h's, so if you don't have one of those... it's not as necessary. And the people who do have those generally get them for their standard sound, so they don't want to modify it. I moved away from my 88h, personally. But I know people who use them and love them! Probably depends on the year...

@@ChristianLindbergTrombone Christian, what mouthpiece, from your line, will work best to get me a big, dark orchestral sound, like for the Bruckner 8 finale? I play a Shires Q series
@ChristianLindbergTrombone
@ChristianLindbergTrombone 3 года назад
@@Arthur-hg7ny The darkest sound you will get from 2CL, but remember that you can will also be able to create quite a dark sound with 4 and 5. Listen carefully to my sound, it is as dark as a 4 or 5 G, the only thing is to learn to play them with less effort. If you use the same muscles as with 4 G you will get a very bright sound on the CL mouthpieces, whereas once you learn to relax and play with less effort your sound will darken, and you will then also have a much better endurance! Best of luck!! Creating those mouthpieces was the best I ever did as a musician!
