We have a Christian daimyo Takayama Ukon who was exiled by the Tokugawa bakufu and became an immigrant here in the Philippines together with a handful of Japanese Christians. He was welcomed here by the Spanish government. He has a monument in Plaza Dilao in Paco, Manila.

The Christianity that took hold in Japan is catholic:a Form of Christianity that is as far away from its roots as could be. Applying binary understanding to God leads to sin. We had catholic Japanese people who came to Spain in XVII century asking for support to the king Felipe III, (not too crazy cause Philipines was Spanish at the moment and Portugal too with all the colonies not that far from Japan) finally they stayed in the south near Sevilla in a town known as Coria del Río. Today you find people there with the surname Japón (Japan in Spanish).

Konishi Yukinaga and Kato Kiyomasa are well known in Korea. The fact that they didn't like each other was known to the Koreans even back then. One interesting fact is that Konishi Yukinaga may have been the first Christian to set foot on Korean Penninsula (but I could be wrong on this), but obviously, he was no missionary.
I am always interested in warrior cultures and their history especially how to apply them to today whether it's Samarai viking roman or native American tribes the subject just deeply fascinates me and I think it's a philosophy we have lost touch with and needs to return to the modern era. We Don't even have a code of honor anymore it seems like honorable deeds are what you make them out to be which really makes it hard to follow.

Reason Christianity is banned in Japan by Hideyoshi and fully implemented in the Tokugawa era is not just the Shimabara Rebellion but because Japanese people were sold off in Japan and bought by Portuguese missionaries then they were shipped and sold off again as slaves in Europe.
The tortures and executions did by the Tokugawa Bakufu to its people were not so different with what the Catholics did with heretics and suspected witches in Europe during the middle ages to renaissance period.
That doesn't overshadow what the Japanese Catholics went through. They practiced authentic Christianity. A lot of the Inquisition Catholics were clearly not practicing the Gospel.
