He’s the most successful, but Michael Costello and Leanne Marshall are not doing too bad. But back to Christian, that dress at @9:32 is like he funnest, chicest thing ever!
Christian is the only designer I know that can make a curvy girl look skinny! He has made pieces for every skin tone, body type and taste. The absolute best.
Definitely not the first. John Galliano had an entire collection modelled by every type of people you can imagine...including midgets and a transvestite. Thierry Mugler also had plus size models and midgets.
Diversity...love it. Wasn't crazy about all of the designs, but some of them any woman could wear. And each and every model could walk and made the designs pop. This show was making a statement and I like the statement Siriano was making. Fashion shouldn't be confined to one size, one race, one age or one gender...there should be diversity. I just don't understand why those in the fashion industry haven't gotten that memo or text.
@Sydney Chandler - The whole idea of fashion is to create beauty, symmetry, impeccable design, and SALES. Fashion shows and magazines are all about dreams, not reality. Those dreams translate into a multi-billion dollar industry. "Diversity" has nothing to do with fashion. Models of any ethnic group, who all belong to the one "race" on this earth, the human race, who look beautiful in the designs are best suited to promote those products -- and, by the way, clothes look much, much better on tall, slim women. That is just a fact of life. That is why designers prefer tall, slim models -- because it translates into sales. As for your gender bs, women's fashions involve just ONE GENDER, THE FEMALE GENDER.
@FitTallGayBlond I used to think the same thing... And in most ways I agree, the tall, thin model is an artful fantasy to be revered and admired. But in the real of today's fashion business, designers are opting to attract women who are beyond the single digit dress size. And so, the standard looks for models are evolving to mirror the diverse size demand for designer clothing.
FitTallGayBlond unfortunately morbid obesity is the “norm” these days. Even though it isn’t normal, and should not be celebrated. If you look at pictures of large groups of people(not models) 20 years ago they were thin, or a lot thinner than compared to pics of large groups now. It’s a sad reality that no one seems to want to fix but only exacerbate.
He really understands the everyday woman's body and how to dress all women of all different sizes. Bravooooooo.....those three last goddesses 😍😍😍😍!!!!#ThatPART
This is why I like christian siriano. Not only is he so talented he is also very inclusive with his designs. I love the message that he sent out with his runaway shows and that the models he uses are not the typical size 0. This is so nice to see especially now days young girl are struggling with body issues.
I love that the models are diverse, are walking with confidence, and don’t have facial expressions that look like they’re about to pass out. His collections and designs are consistently beautiful!! Go Christian!! Way to keep every woman and man in mind! 💕
Absolutely ADORE Christian Siriano!!Live that he designs for all body types. So refreshing seeing curvy girls like myself represented on the catwalk 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Love the variety, Love every dress presented here. What a talent! Christian Siriano knows ALL about fashion, he can incorporate wisely all kinds of sources of inspiration and give women of all types, not only skinny ones, beautiful things to wear. I remember seeing Christian in Project Runway and am so glad he made it to the top.
Pretty sure I love 100% of this collection! And like everyone else, I more than appreciate his respect for diversity. I remember him on Project Runway and he was AH-MA-ZING then! Way to go Christian...you deserve all the credit and more.
This young man is amazing. I have never been into fashion. In fact I am a Goodwill or go home kinda gal, but after seeing him on Project Runway I am hooked! His clothes are for EVERYBODY! You have touched something in me and I pray for your continued success and most importantly, your happiness.
Christian is "Kicking It" AGAIN ! ! ! I think his style is over the moon. I so love and respect him for showing every type of woman. He's my forever favorite - afraid of NOTHING ! ! ! Such a Stunning Collection ! ! ! 8-)
Thank you Christian for a beautiful show including soo many beautiful, wearable garments. Many, many kudos to you for using some “normal” size women! BRAVA BRAVA BRAVA
I love his work and understanding of the everyday woman. You can find his fashion in high end stores and in more affordable stores like Payless. Love it!
Fashion shows should be about the garments, not the models. Including fat models is just pandering and literally contributes nothing to the collection.
@@vagingo You commented, then you used the same comment under my comment....I loved the show period and if you don't like it, that's your problem!!! Now go worry someone else with your ignorance.
@@charn4292 how is what i said ignorant? - you must be projecting. Instead of being insulting you could offer a counter point to my comment (which is a fair response to your original comment.)
@@vagingo why you under my shit projecting and talking about fat people.....why don't you take that up with the person who designed this collection and/or picked the models, cause I didn't!
Obviously you don't like fat models and as I stated that's not my problem, its yours....I love the skin I'm in and I'd put on one of these dresses and my 5' 11" size 13 ass will walk right in front of you and work the fuck outta that fabric. Don't like it, your free to leave!!!
So much more compelling to watch a fashion show that actually represents the variety of bodies that might be seen in the real world. Love the fashions, love the show!
FINALLY a designer who isn't afraid to show that all women are not just one size. I commend you on this collection BRAVO well done keep designing clothes for people of all shapes and sizes my dear!
This was beautiful ❤️♥️. Christian represented every shape, size, color, and shade in the spectrum. I've always loved his attention to detail. And this is a real run way hunny. This represents everyday people. #Glamorous
Kudos to Christian Siriano for designs--in addition for the full figure woman!!! Don't know if other designers are on the bandwagon, but he gets the shout out🙌🙌🙌
I loveeee the color story of this collection, also those suits are everything. And I want the look with the peacock like ruffle feather. And everything. No ONE NO ONE, does cuts like Christian Siriano, he has the most beautiful silhouettes on the market. And that black dress with lace....that black ballgown...please bury me in it
@@brookierex4223 the fact that 90% of the comments on the section are about the models and not the fashion prove you are wrong. After a show, people would be talking about the garments, not the models.
@@vagingo A lot of the comment section that discussed the various sizes also pointed out how *wearable* the garments are and how it's possible for people big and small, and of different skin tones to be able to rock these looks. In this instance, it's not "distracting", it's inspiring and noteworthy.
@FitTallGayBlond That's not just " a bunch of fat girls pretending" honey, that's real. They have careers. They are rocking what they got. They've earned their paychecks and probably got to take home beautiful dresses. I've seen 2 of these plus size women booked in other fashion shows as well, so don't give me that bullshit. They are fashion models.
Love love love it. The pops of neon and iridescence give nods to both Abloh's Louis Vuitton and Donatella's Versace. I love the models with deeper complexion + bright fabric juxtaposition as well as the plus-sized models strutting their stuff. Also, the first tan pantsuit gave me goosebumps; inspiring stuff as always!
Love most of his pieces even more love for the fact that he is one of the few that has plus size models in his show he caters to every body type great job
The menswear looks were totally unnesseccary but this was really beautiful, many of the dresses had amazing movement to them and the size inclusivity just rocks.
Hes beyond takented ....some great looks..esp liked the Turquoise.at the end...but.when the 3came out in tge peachy-orange clothes...sorry reminded me of the Pointer Sisters....so glad to see diversity...BRAVO CHRISTIAN
The style of the animal print creations were gorgeous (notably 7:54, 8:17). Splashes of chartreuse were electric and the peach trio at the end - fabulous! Sucks we couldn't see the back of ANYTHING though.
Just, blown away. The clothes are Stunning. Showing women of all sizes, all equally gorgeous. The way his show just flows with color and styles. Plus yellow has always been my favorite color so 😍😍😍
If you can make any woman feel beautiful in your clothes then you are truly talented. Being able to only design for one body type shows how limited some designers are. Christian is not limited. I'm not the richest but I'm more than happy to splurge on Christian Siriano because he goes out of his way to make everyone feel beautiful and I appreciate that. I remember when no one wanted to dress Leslie Jones and Christian did and he did a stunning job ❤️
The full figured model at 10:12 owns it!! This collection is terrific. He’s had misses in the past with ill fitting garments but this was perfection. I loved the white pieces.
Gorgeous! And thank you for not falling into Egypt this season w everyone else! The neon green is the absolute perfect shade! I'm so happy Siriano is SO YOUNG! We have a LIFETIME to adore his artistry.
What a show. Diversity is the key here! All shapes and sizes not to mention cultures. Fashion is for everyone and this was showcased evidently. More designers need to follow suit.
His clothes are so beautiful and I actually can see myself wearing some of the pieces. So many times I see a runway show and although the clothes are beautiful, there is just in no occasion will a normal person ever wear them!!
All the models were great, but the plus size models brought it to the runway. They strutted like they were gliding on air. Yes, now that’s how you launch a spring/summer collection. I enjoyed it very much.
Hate the format, you can't see the back of anything. But all the designs were stunning. And the fact that all sizes and shapes walked made it even better.
