true, Buddhism must be the most misunderstood belief out there. The precepts existed before Buddhism and they were expanded on by the Buddha for layman inorder tp create a better society, but it isnt part of Buddhism itself. as a Buddhism, we do good things for others not just for good karma but also to help other people, i don't know much about Christianity but if they do sin and then don't do any good deeds after you will be sure to casted into hell, Jesus died for the sinful but it does not mean you won't go to hell. if you don't try to do any good deeds then it means you are not even trying to wash away the sins and always rely on god to send you to heaven.

Paul, who you quote here, is a fraud. His claim that your good deeds are dirty rags is a contradicting Jesus heresy. Jesus taught NO such thing. Jesus outright said that if you do not perform certain good deeds you are going to hell no matter whatever else you say or do.

@@desmadrex Doing something good for selfish reasons is still being selfish. It doesn't just magically erase the selfishness in the good thing. If you decide to volunteer at a soup kitchen, but only because they offered $50 to go in and help, that's still being selfish. You're helping, but you're taking from stuff that can be used to help more. I can guarantee that you don't need that $50, but you still went only because of the $50. But say you go in every weekend to volunteer because you want to make a change in the world. That's a truly good act.
Doing the right thing for the wrong reason is sociopathic pragmatism. Not all sociopaths are murderers but all are willing to ruin other people's lives for their own benefit. However, they are just as likely to help others if that act will ultimately prove beneficial to their own goals. @@Numbatumbi Actually modern Christians don't misquote or misinterpret the Bible it's their clergy who have twisted the meanings of the Scriptures around and then the congregation just regurgitates what they are told to believe. Most modern Christians dislike Catholics because they believe they are evil yet it was a Roman Emperor and Catholic Bishops who decided on what Books were to go into the Bible and the way they should be interpreted. It was at this time the Emperor and the Bishops decided that God the Father would no longer be worshipped and replaced the Father with the Son making him the Godhead. Interestingly Emperor Constantine wasn't particularly religious or spiritual in fact he wasn't even Christian it was a political strategy to consolidate his power.

Obeying the Law benefits us nothing. But we selfishly take it up as a way to benefit ourselves in All religions. We don’t have a natural inclination towards loving others and certainly don’t have a natural inclination towards loving God. God gave the Law so we may SEE how we have fallen short. It’s not for our salvation, nor for our benefit. It was given so we could see how we are not living the way we were created to live. So we can SEE we don’t have LIFE and we deserve punishment many times over. And that punishment is what we are headed for. The ultimate way God has given us to see our sin is through the Cross. Full of Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness He came Earth as a man to tell us we must be Transformed, Born Again, become a New Person. The Romans and the Jews rejected His Message and His Works of Kindness because their hearts were evil. They both crucified God. If that doesn’t REVEAL the Heart of man I don’t know what does. But in His death, He didn’t fight back, He didn’t bring Justice and Judge RIGHT THEN, no He said, if you will not Reject the SPIRIT THAT WAS In Me and Let My Death be your wake-up call to repentance and forgiveness and transformation I’ll forgive you and Live with you and fellowship with you in and through My Spirit. Instead of following someone who never met Jesus in the flesh, follow what Jesus's "brother" James, who walked and talked almost daily with Jesus and who said: "14. What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?... 17. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2. That’s exactly what you are called to do. In fact you shouldn’t even take credit or take pride in doing good deeds, because you are supposed to give all glory to your father in heaven. Like it or not, there are always consequences for being evil. Thus conditions always exist attached to behavior. Murder is illegal but I choose not to murder, not because of the punishment, but because it is evil to do so and I strive to be better than evil people.

Faith without work and works with faith... both are meaningless and dead. We are expected to have faith and by that faith we will study and show ourselves approved by God. Our works won't save us and neither will just saying you believe. Believing requires doing his will. If you have faith and believe his words you will do his work. We can't just say we believe then coast through life believing we will be saved. Repentance is the act of turning around. You cannot turn to Jesus then afterwards turn back to your old life. You have to walk anew along side Jesus and if you do, when you inevitably stumble He will lift you up. This also means following the examples and commandments given by Jesus and the apostles. Like being baptized. Jesus himself was baptized... not for forgiveness of sins but to fulfill prophecy and as an example of what we should do. I never understood beyond what must be the great deceivers influence as to why baptism is such a hang up for so many would be Christians. If one simple act of taking a dip in some water to show your belief and faith in God is too much for someone then what does that say about their actual devotion to their creator.

@@Rivestruth Interesting to see that the very scripture of Ephesians 2:8-9 that says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Notice how it says that faith doesn't come from us but is gifted to us from God. Also, see how it says that salvation is not of our own doing? Interesting.
The Torah doesn't explicitly say anywhere an idea supporting that "our good deeds are like rags". To the contrary, in Genesis 4:6 God tells Cain quite the opposite, "Is it not so that if you improve, it will be forgiven you? If you do not improve, however, at the entrance, sin is lying, and to you is its longing, _but you can rule over it."_ What God is telling Cain is that he can improve his actions, i.e. his works, such that they reach a level acceptable to God.
Christianity is a relationship, we serve a God that’s doesn’t need to be defended but served and obeyed. Religion is a dictatorship whereby your god needs protection, and one has to give his life to him. I’m not sure about you god but there is a living God that loves you
Yeah indeed, just shows how fucked up Christians are where you have to be told by some imaginary dude that doing good deeds is good and you literally couldn't come up with that thought by yourself. Other people came to that realization WITHOUT religion and don't have an excuse of "oh well I wasn't ordered to by my god" if they don't do it. When I say “we” I mean the scientific community, very normal phraseology for referring to consensus scientific opinion. Space and time do not have to be eternal. Space, probably isn’t, all evidence points to it being finite. Time we don’t know. You are not capable of demonstrating otherwise. The curvature of spacetime and the expansion of the universe don’t try to address the infinite, they don’t have to, they were never supposed to, they’re just qualities we’ve observed. There’s nothing “beyond the curve”, that’s not a phrase that even makes any sense. The universe needn’t be expanding into anything. How would answering your questions advance anything? The infinite and eternal aren’t really very difficult concepts to understand in an of themselves. “The infinite and eternal where space has no end and time no beginning” needn’t be explained because it’s just meaningless technobabble, space likely does have an end and time may well have a beginning. No. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. God never said we MUST do something (WORKS). Our works and good deeds are like filthy rags to God because they come from sinful hands. God saves us and cleanses us through the blood of the Lamb. The thief on the cross did no good works,yet Jesus promised him he would be in paradise with him. People disbelieve all there lives,but have death bed conversions,no works involved. It's God who saves us,repents us,gives us faith,strengthens faith,gives grace, and mercy. It's all God not us. None of these things could ever come from us.
When a person repents, the good works that come are the fruit of true Faith . it is not doing "good" worka trying to prove we have faith. Its like going yo church, we dont go to church to be rewarded or justified, we go because we have already been justified in Christ. Is not doing works to receive something rather the works are proof of what we have received. 😅
As a Christian, yes and NO. Aim at being the Best person you can be, recognize your faults you have and make them better. Be a better person. What you do wrong will be compounded, what you do will be compounded. See yourself. Make yourself great.
That doctrine that the guy in the video is senseless. Faith without works is dead. If a religion doesn't help people to become good in character and behavior. Then that religion is useless. It is true faith without works is dead. Idk, by idolatry I assume you mean the crucifix and you don’t share that religion so Jesus isn’t the main figurehead so it’s that to you. The cannibalism, idk where Catholics got “this actually turns into his blood” but not everyone believes that. Where Catholics got confession, indulgences, purgatory…. Idk it’s not biblical. The problem is there is a lot of lukewarm Christians. I think in my previous posts (it’s old dude) I was trying to say I don’t think that sinning should keep you from god. I felt like that do a while and all it did was make me feel guilty if I did go to church. Which was a net negative. Sometimes I feel like people think they have to be perfect to go to church and I don’t think that’s true. Here's how you break the so called Scales of Justice.. the whole argument that as long as your good outweighs your bad If a man saves 10 women from the sex slave trade and delivers them to freedom, but decides to keep 2 as his own personal set slaves.. does the 8 that he saved outweigh the 2 that he kept? If I saved 6 lives from a house fire.. can I get a license to kill one person of my choosing? Seeing as I've saved 6 lives I should now be able to remove somebodies existence somewhere?
Yes God gives grace…. However if we are to accept it, we must repent, change our ways and be in friendship with God, but by continuing to sin, when he asks us to “sin no more” we in essence reject the grace he gives us and begin to invoke the “just judge” instead of the “merciful father”..

😮I have heard this guy preach several times before. and from what I have heard thus far, there seems to be no compassion nor charity in this guy's preaching style... maybe I missed it?🧐...but I can just hear the condecending tone in his voice rising over this kid's voice... it seems like he basically interrupted him and whether or not I agree with the kid he's 'preaching at' or (yelling at?) or not, I wanted to hear the rest of his comment, so that I could understand him better, I but couldn't😢 ...It's no wonder people are turned off by (some) Christians.😔 It almost seems like he's tearing down other folks beliefs whilst bolstering his own...(whatever it is...couldn't quite catch it over the ego.🥴) Condescention wasn't Jesus love language. It was and always will be Truth (in Love,) Mercy, Grace and Compassion. He spoke with authority of course, but He was engaging because of his humility, and compassion, love amd mercy, and grace. If you want people to hear what you are actually saying, and not just you, speaking from a voice of assumed authority, I dunno, maybe try not to put people on the defensive...if I heard you speaking as I was just walking down the sidewalk, I woulda kept walking, not stopping to listen to this.🤷♀️
Time and time again, Christians throughout history have tried to appease God the right way. We have found out that the only way we can do so with absolutely no sin is not possible. We are born with sin and think and feel things in our heart that are not pure, we sin in ways we never even know. That is why the salvation is necessary. And God bless us all that God loves us so much, and entirely unconditionally, that he would send his only son for that salvation. Edit: Also, when he says the Bible is about saving the “sinners” and not the “good people,” the argument there is none of us are good and all of our sins are equally bad in the eyes of God. @trailblazzin he's saying in all those other religions one can be rewarded for their deeds without having to worship or need a messiah. Good deeds without faith means nothing in Christianity is what he's saying.
The most vocal people claiming to have all the answers, are often the most uneducated and unintelligent. You sir, should be embarrassed to assume you are in possession of the knowledge of the "One truth" however that embarrassment should pale in comparison to how ignorant you are to believe you are so far above everybody else in this "Amen" Circle jerk of a comment section. Faith without works is dead. It's in the bible. This means you can not claim to walk with God, and yet you never pick up the cross. What this man is referring to, though, is that you don't get saved through those works, you get saved through Jesus's "Grace." Following God's word + giving your best efforts is the way to let God know you're trying to be as he commanded, and he acknowledges your attempt and, in a sense, takes pity on our sinful soul. The fact we will never be good enough for heaven, and yet God is still willing to save us so long as we are obedient servants is love because God does not need us. We need him.
Amen!!! our righteousness are no good before a Holy God, Jesus Christ was that sacrifice and shed His blood for our atonement and reconciliation with God our Father.

@@MrKev1664 I've already explained to you that Ephesians clearly states that salvation isn't of work but of God's grace (His meritless favor and blessing) and the saving faith He gifts to us. We don't contribute anything to our own salvation other than the sin that made it necessary. Our good deeds are but filthy rags before the Lord so how the heck to you expect to think that any work you do can be as good as the finished work that Christ did on the cross? Honestly as someone who’s an atheist - if I was too look at joining a religion (and I’m not saying this to be antagonistic, I’m just giving my gut feeling in response to watching this short) it turns me more too other religions as, I mean firstly he doesn’t actually give evidence (but that might just be due it being a short and not having enough time to show it here) on these other religions saying such. Also it turns me more to them because they talk about being rewarded for their religious acts and attitudes where as Christianity he seems ti make it sound like we’re never going to be enough alone and we’re going to need Jesus to save us, who’s not appeared in 2000 years so why should I wait for him if he’s not going to reward me for me being a good and faithful Christian

It is easy to get mad and imagine the minds of others, but I know that we all come to understand the world and the universe differently. I don't believe the Bible is divinely inspired, but the message of loving your neighbor and approaching people with kindness is a great moral framework. It’s not about being enough alone. It’s about being sinful and Christ covering our sin. So who we are alone is not good and we do need a savior to cover that. Also, the idea of waiting for Jesus to reward you for being a Christian is not right. Jesus is the reward. He is the reward. Heaven is the reward. Even still, you would be rewarded in Heaven. You would be rewarded for the fruit that you grew on earth. The people you bring to Christ. Things like that.
This argument right here is why christians are whack imo. "Being a good person doesnt matter because youll go to heaven anyways!" Completely negates logic and can even encourage complacency. If you need a garaunteed reward to convince you to do the right things then you arent actually a good person. If you need a book to tell you whats right and wrong you might be a sociopath.
