this song is similar with my life. So every time i hear that, i can feel the pain and the sadness in this song

I just had a little weep as my dad was an abusive alcoholic and it has been my mum who was always been there for me for I totally understand this song!

I learned this song when I was abt 13 or 14 and I remember singing it and crying cause my step dad was an abusive alcoholic/coke head and would hit me and my mother (mostly me) also he'd moleste me.. here I am 25 years old and hearing this song makes me lose my shit.

This is the most beautiful acoustic version of I'm OK. I love it. I ended up using it for one of my covers. (I credited you of course).

This song makes my bruises hurt everytime I listen to it. But that's ok. It's their way to show me how I was strong along those years. I'm the woman that kept them close to be a better person! So I don't forget those episodes not for the trauma but to keep in mind that I'm capable to face all the bad stuff that happens in my life. Thank you God for making me a special one and for gaving me the strongest mum in the world! With all that pain, she didn't left me or my sisters behind... Love U MUM!

Abusive step dads are the worst, I say from experience...if you are searching for justice, give it to yourself! accomplish more with your life than he ever could and show him how little of an impact he is to your life even if he did make a huge impact do not give him the satisfaction of knowing that! Show him how insignificant he actually is as a human being by being something great, when you grow up you are an adult just like him and the fact is you can have more money a better job a better position in that job a better home a happier family a better body a healthier life style and that is something to covet above anything, he doesn’t want that for you but he will want if for himself...for you to achieve this would be the most souls destroying thing for him and if you still care, ruin any part of his life he still has then continue with your glorious one. Hope this reaches the right person...dry your eyes hit your books, eat clean, excersise, enjoy the world in all its beauty because you deserve it...do not let someone take that from you

i know what you mean. i was also brought up with an abusive dad and he used to choke me and my mom. he had around 10 or 12 charges against my mom and 4 me about 5... thankfully our court stuff is over.. hope everything turns out ok.. if you need to talk im here... im good at giving advice especially with this stuff.. :)
