Hey I love that tan trim 519!! Reminds me of a factory rebuild, and nice thing is that the trim is easily attainable in tan color. And that bag! 😍😍 very sharp machine. It sounds like a 4 row brush roll?
I have done a lot to it throughout the years. I used to hand polish it a lot when I was in my teens. I started polishing it on the bench later on. I liked the pattern on this bag, but I changed it to a genuine Kirby bag. The genuine bag filters better and it opens at the top with a bag slide.
Woahh that Kirby looks mint, like it's come straight out of the factory! I'd love to see more videos from you because this was pretty neat to watch. How does this perform against the heritage 2? We never got these in the UK I dont think
Thanks, man! I have had it since I was a kid, and have taken very good care of it. I did a complete rebuild of it in 2009, but have customized it some since then. I love your videos; I really like that Sebo Felix you have. My time to film is limited, because I take care of my grandmother. I do plan on making some more films when I can. I think the Heritage 2 has roughly 120-121 cfms. This machine might have about the same with the shake-out bag. I converted it to using a disposable bag system (see my 519 Revisited video) so I don't know exactly what it would be now; maybe a little less. I would say they are the same as far as picking up fine dust is concerned. If you haven't already, I highly recommend Vaclab's channel on here. He is very precise about his tests, and he had a video of a Heritage 2 Legend and a Dual Sanitronic 80 comparison. That might give you a pretty good idea about the performance of both machines.
@@parwaz7861 Yours are, too, man. I learned more about Dysons from watching your channel. I have only worked on one of them. It was stopped up with hair. Most people in my area have cheap vacuums, but once in awhile I will work on a Kirby, Sebo, etc. I have worked on a couple of Sharks, too. I think between Dyson and Shark I would probably go with an older Dyson. That's just my opinion.
I am assuming you mean upgrading a Kirby to using HEPA filtration? Yes, I can help you there. For models 516-Tradition, you can add a Heritage 2/Legend 2 mini emtor, fill tube and top bag adapter. It will be held together by zip ties. Once assembled, you have a choice of outer bags: Tradition blue, Heritage orange or Heritage 2 gray. You will need a bag top hanger with chain or the solid hanger if your machine doesn't have one already.. Some people use the open-top, black shake-out bags with the metal slide to retain the vintage look on the 516-561 models, but the other ones I mentioned are more convenient. Once fully assembled, you have your choice of disposable bags which range from standard paper to HEPA filtration. Hope this helps.
It is an aftermarket bag made by DVC. I have two of them, but I recently acquired a genuine, tan Kirby bag to match the trim. I also added wider front wheels and converted it to using HEPA disposable bags.
