I have a tendency to rewatch movies and shows that are comforting to me(Harry Potter and downton abbey are a few of my favorites) and this morning on a cold New England fall day I had the urge to rewatch this Christmas river cruise series you guys did. Guys that was truly wonderful. Mima and I lived in Germany 40 yrs ago and this brought back so many memories! We started our married life there and are still going strong! You’ve encouraged me to get back to Germany, perhaps in December like you.

True story, we came home from our Christmas market tour with 21 glüwein mugs and each one was different! I had to buy a suitcase in Strasbourg 😂

I love that you both love 'Love Actually'. My absolute fave! The temptation to log off from work, make myself some real hot chocolate and curl up on my bed, while cheering on Jamie/Colin Firth and growling at Harry/Alan Rickman is overwhelming. My darling daughter is home this week from Uni ... we shall have a grand time this evening sobbing into each other's shoulders whilst drinking the aforementioned hot chocolate and munching on some chocolate chip cookies that I made yesterday. Of course, each time someone mentions Hot Chocolate, I think of one of my other favourite movies - The Full Monty.

European markets are just so Christmassy, mulled wine and gingerbread. Yum. I would love to take a cruise like this, thanks for sharing and giving me inspiration.

The Christmas Markets looked like a dream!! So magical.

After the Queen Mary II changed her mind we never got to cruise to the markets, but, mum still got her trip we have just returned from Prague where I kept thinking I was walking about in a fairy tale. Great trip chaps, I might have to do this next year!

I love this cruise with Ben and David so much, we booked the same itinerary for December 2024. I will be watching these videos ALOT between now and then. Thank you guys - you are fantastic!

I cannot remember when I enjoyed a video as much as this one! Thank you both so much. This has been a terrible year for me with my health and 4 mini strokes in one year. Christmas has been so hard for me for the past few years as I have been unable to feel the "Christmas Cheer" for all the work and emotional losses in the past few years. To watch this was like a magical experience as I have never been to Germany or Switzerland, especially at Christmas, or taken a river cruise. It was a bit of a fairytale to watch your excitement and like I said, it has been so long that I have felt any of the magic of Christmas. So thank you for the escape. Also; a personal thank you for your wonderful table manners. I am an old Southern US Lady and I love a beautiful table and sharing a beautiful meal without watching someone chewing their food like cows chew grass and have to listen to someone eat & chew with their mouth open, hear the nasty sounds come mixed with their talking throughout their chewing...I was raised as a true Southern Belle and it is a pet peeve with me. It was all a delight and I have always dreamed of going to Germany as my father's family came from Germany to the US in the 1600s. I doubt I will ever get there, so thank you, and Merry Christmas to you both.

I must say that the editing of these videos is stellar (it might actually be better than the editing of Love Actually). I feel really drawn into the story and the place. Thanks for all the hard work.

I just got off the Jewel and if you are concerned about covid at all, I would not recommend cruising. Covid rules are not enforced. Passengers walked around freely inside, in public areas with no masks, elevators are packed, dining areas packed, shows packed, no social distancing

Oh this was wonderful! I`m not in a position to travel, but honestly this is one of the cruises I`ve always wanted to do and wow it lives up to expectations! Truly magical thanks so much, I needed a bit of a cheer-up today and this hit the spot!

My husband and I took a Viking river Christmas cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg in December. We had a nice room with a balcony. I love visiting the Christmas villages. ❤

Those Christmas markets look amazing, I've always wanted to do them, I think I'd have to take an extra suitcase for the decorations I'd bring back, the food looks delicious and actually made me hungry, as always loads of fun watching you guys, hope you had a blast it certainly looked like you did, by the way I left my shoe outside my front door and all I got was a puddle of rain water, stay safe guys

You have taken me back, and reminded me of the 2 times we have done the Christmas Markets! The German markets are terrific! In Nuremburg, i actually got interviewed by the Christmas Angel....and was on German TV, that evening! You go with a half empty suitcase, so you can bring all the gifts you buy home. The 1st time we went, our last night on board was the 22nd of Dec, and Sajta came on the ship, and left a gift on our bed while we all were at dinner! It was a decanter, and 2 wine glasses, that were embrossed with the picture , name and date of our ship! I would buy the mulled wine in each Christmas market, since the mugs are different, they were a great souvenir of each place. They all now sit on pegs above our mantle in our dining room, year round! We have done five river cruises in Europe. One of them was a Christmas market cruise on the Danube River in 2018. It is a magical time.Enjoyed watching you and your excitement over the experience. Looking forward to your further adventures.

Hi Ben and David. Missed you guys. Nice empty flight. A river cruise. Where I hear the crew outnumbers the passengers. Ok. Let’s watch. I think most excursions don’t wait if someone’s late. Now the question is if someone misses it because of lateness, will they be refunded? I’m looking at those seats on the bus saying wow. Nice and roomy. But I finally see it seats 3😳. Can’t complain about new ports and markets. Glad they are trying. Lovely suite. Yess please. A tour of suite plz. Great all movies included. A triple slider. Close it do your tea doesn’t get cold. No restrictions to bring drinks or snacks on. Nice. Bathroom/ shower looks spacious. Ooh. Bath nightlight. 🤣 2 hrs since you ate. My word. I would be starving too. Beer and wine included. Dutch cheese soup. Delish. The salad looks good too. Less options but good quality works. I didn’t know the Netherlands were known for fried chicken. Ice cream and Dutch pancakes. Great ☄️. Omg. You could you touch under the bridge. Dinner time. I’ve yet to see that restaurant full. Love no dress code. Informal and comfortable. I hear you Ben. You cook with wine 😏🤣. I`m quite envious of you two! I live in Switzerland and have been on 2 River Cruises with a Swiss Company, Mittel Thurgau, once on the Duoro, Portugal (SUPERB!) and the other in August on the Donau(Danube). I love big ship cruising but LOVE river cruising. Both were during the pandemic and I felt so safe - masks all the time, only half occupancy and we were assigned tables, seats on the bus, etc. I`ve always wanted to do a Christmas Market river cruise, however the Swiss company does not cover so many countries, so may have to look into Avalon. Food superb, loved “getting to know” people on the smaller size boat, etc and I agree, sitting in front of your bedroom window and watching the scenery go by is THE best - can`t wait to follow your whole journey!!!
