CHRISTMAS IN VERMONT 🎄✨ cozy weekend getaway to Stowe & Burlington 

I moved from Oregon to Vermont last year after buying a small farm that would have been impossibly expensive in the Pacific Northwest. So far, I love Vermont. It's great actually having a winter.

I'm obsessed with the vibes here small towns around the holidays just feel to cozy. If you two loved it there you'd love the west coast. It's such a shame it costs a fortune to make it out here because Banff/Canmore and honestly most of BC are gorgeous year round. And as a Canadian who was just in the US for a month coming home to no target was depressing so I get the hype man.

So sorry you had some bad weather, but when we first moved to VT (we moved to Newport, VT in 1986 from our home state of NJ) Vermonters would tell us, "if you don't like the weather, stick around" because it changes so much in a day! Stowe and Burlington are great places to visit. But so is Newport and Jay! You should hike up Jay Peak then take the tram down or hike down, but of course you wouldn't do that in the winter, but you could ski there! And you could even cross over into Stanstead, Quebec from Derby Line, VT which is next to Newport. I taught my last 17 years of teaching at Derby Elementary i Derby Line. The village is not as nice as it used to be, but you could go into Canada and there is a nice bakery not far from the border. And there is a theatre house that is half in Canada and half in USA in Derby Line. But you guys should definitely come back to VT! The people and places and politics are all great!

I’ve spent 5 whole days in Stowe….twice! lol, I love it so much! And not even skiing, in the summer! The hiking is phenomenal, those green mountains vistas are breathtaking! And the brewery and food scene is 10/10!

I grew up in upstate NY and Stowe is such a wonderful Christmas town. Oh, you guys haaaave to visit Seneca Falls for Christmastime. This town was the inspiration for It's a Wonderful Life!! Go for me, since I live on west coast now 😭 Literally zero Christmas magic out here.
