Storm Front sang this Christmas Medley in July 2006 during International convention chorditorium and had people rolling on the floor with laughter. Extreme caution is advised

I didn't catch it until the second viewing, but when the baritone sings, "Do you hear what I hear?" someone in the audience says, "We never do." As a former barbershop baritone myself, I thought that was a great comment.

To those saying that Straight No Chaser did this first, I will correct you to say that they did it before Storm Front and they made it famous, but they did not do it first. From Wikipedia's Straight No Chaser page: "The song was an adaptation of a 1968 comic arrangement of the song by Richard C. Gregory, a faculty member of The Williston Northampton School, for his a cappella group, the Williston Caterwaulers." I actually like Storm Front's version better because the mixed up papers give a reason for the confusion, and that (in my opinion) makes it much funnier.

Credit where credit is due, Daebu - this is a slightly altered version of the brilliant "Christmas Soup" Written by Richard Gregory in 1968 for the Williston Academy Caterwaulers. Straight No Chaser updated it for their own 1993 (-ish) version.

Straight No Chaser (Indiana University) did a more extended version of this--also very good. To view it, search RU-vid using keywords="straight no chaser" + "12 days of christmas"; you'll find a couple of clips. I was in Indy for this convention, but missed this particular tour de farce.

The song is a 1967 arrangement by Richard C. Gregory. Straight No Chaser certainly added their own spin, particularly by adding Toto's "Africa", but they hardly deserve credit for this particular arrangement.

@ripstick91 Oops, correction. Straight No Chaser's version is from 1998, but the tenor of Storm Front says (in the comments at the very bottom) that he originally did this song in 1988 with a different group.

I enjoy good comedy. This is not racist at all Obviousperv. This is comedy at the Barbershop level. I could not stop with just this one vid. I saw them all, and if they didnt get first place at the singing, someone was bought off. Keep up the good work guys.

Finn they didn’t steal it from Straight No Chaser. Both groups stole it independently from Richard C. Gregory, a faculty member of The Williston Northampton School, for his a cappella group, the “Williston Caterwaulers” (according to Wikipedia). The original medley is called “Christmas Soup.” There are videos here on RU-vid of groups performing it decades _before_ Straight No Chaser _or_ Storm Front. I like Storm Front’s visual innovation of the spilled sheet music, which gives a reason for the apparent mess-ups.

While I appreciate this rendition, I would much prefer if credit was given where credit is due. Excepting the final chords, this arrangement is a pared-down version by "Straight No Chaser", now a professional men's Acapella group in their own right. This can be found at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Fe11OlMiz8.html
@JoelERea

Not true. It’s much older than Straight No Chaser. It dates back to the late 1960s (either ’67 or ’68) and is called “Christmas Soup” by Richard C. Gregory.

It's coincidence, they can choose to have their name of their quartlet different. It's like the symbol buddhist use in compared to the nazis: Although they are perfectly innocent, some people will portray them differently.
@sillyentz

Tha laugh at 1 min 30 is appalling! Brilliant group, but why is the count from the muppets holding the camera?
@stuntmasta305
@stuntmasta305 16 лет назад
Look, we've already established that this group has nothing to do with them. I don't want to get into a liberty-to-naming-your-own-quartlet ordeal. Think about it, what if a hip band, came out with the name K.K.K? I'm not prohibiting the freedom to express your band in any way; I just think it is unwise to closely affiliate it with a hate group.
