I swear, my kid and yours share the same personality when it comes to mocking their old man. Great vid! Thanks for looking into those locations. I knew that a lot of it was done on a back lot but it was still cool to see the places that weren't.
christmas vacation , plane trains & automobiles. have to watch them every year. that house is awesome dedication and fun!!! everyone who tops by should donate something
As an attorney, the line "It just seems like such a waste of a cool building to have a law school here" made me laugh really hard. Because it's so true. Loved your video as always, and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Wow!..how cool is that house, such detail to a classic Christmas movie !..thank you for always giving such description and details to ALL your videos.👍👍
You do awesome work I am a new subscriber I love it I love how you did the Christmas vacation I love how you did the 80s car show I watch Adam the Woo I like filming locations Grimm life but you rock buddy you really do keep up the good work thank you so much
We went to Breckenridge in October. On the way off I-70 you drive by the Wal Mart in Frisco. My wife couldn't understand why I was so excited about it.
Absolutely brilliant this, I knew that the houses used were filmed on the wb backlot, but still interesting to see the other locations, I will be watching Xmas vacation later today for sure. Have you ever noticed that when Clarke says with the bonus I'm putting in a pool, then Eddie says I can't swim Clarke..then in Vegas vacation Eddie says, ever swam with the dolphins clarke, meaning he swam with them so did he take lessons lol. Anyway thanks Kurt for the upload, looking forward to the next one 😊
I came across your channel today, and have literally spent ALL day watching your videos! 😂 Obviously I subscribed. Just wanted to note on this video that at the very end you can also see they have the port hole on the makeshift second story where Clark was sitting in the attic watching old home movies. Also, your Son cracked me up in this video! Thanks for your videos and love the content.
I started out as a page from 98-2000 and WB was my stopping grounds. I worked on the main lot for the first two years as a page on various sitcoms. Then I got a gig for WB Television in the summer of 2000. Our production office was located on the Ranch and I got to work on both lots. Gate 12 was the main gate at the time. One show I worked on we film at the Lethal Weapon house. Those houses are practical they have Interiors. The opposite side across from the house with the pool was the opening of Friends. Very time I drove onto the Ranch I thought of Lethal Weapon Christmas Vacation and Friends. Good times
I had forgotten there are so many exterior shots, I remember all of it like taking place in the soundstage house, but then again, I haven't seen this film in like 10 years lol
Very cool video! One thing I noticed about watching the movie and the end of your video was the chainsaw, hockey mask and the colors of Clark’s sweater and winter vest which are synonymous with 3 horror characters of the late 1970s and 1980s. The chainsaw for Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, hockey mask for fake Jason Vorhees from Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning and red/green for Freddy Krueger’s sweater from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Wish my kids like this movie. I always watch it by myself during Xmas time. Sh*tter was full 😂😂😂. That house is awesome. I definitely have to go there.
You said most of the movie was filmed on sound stages. I remember my dad telling me that he and my aunt and uncle walked around the sound stage where they filmed the upstairs parts.
Great video, I was fooled. I thought the movie was filmed on location in Chicago and other parts of Illinois. By then they definitely had a better budget...
That house in La Mirada is fantastic - such a shame the Authorities dont see it that way - i hope they fight it all the way! excellent watch bud ( your kid is hilarious too!)
The addition to the roof top of La Mirada home actually ,made the localnews up north is Sacramento, the city ruled to allow them to leave roof addition until after Christmas, they claimed it could possibly get blown off with Santa Anna winds, man I could believe it been in Fontana one windy night and it was like a hurricane blowing thru there lol. Merry Christmas Kurt- Heath
Saw the Griswald decorated house on the news, I live in La Mirada and had no idea it was located here. Speaking of La Mirada, there used to be an awesome skate ditch off the 5 across from the Santa Fe Springs Drive-in called Swamp Lands. Anyone remember? Was there well into the 2000s.
Great video, have you seen 'Hack The Movies' recent review on Christmas vacation? quite funny to watch. By the way, have you played GTA Vice City Remastered and Yakuza 0 before? they are the best games to relive the 80s as both are basically an 80s simulator.
Clarks bosses house on Kenneth Rd .. i would pass by it going to brand park as a kid.. and I always thought it was the fresh prince of bel airs house. .. i never new it was really a famous Hollywood movie house
I worked on a set construction construction company in the 90’s. We did a commercial in the Bullocks Wiltshire building and the building was empty at the time. I think they stopped using it for actual retail after the riots. Anyways, I remember one of the restrooms had a mosaic tile floor that had little swastikas all over it. I believe it was built pre Nazi Germany.
