Join me for this Christmas Special where I show you how to decorate the Christmas Tree, plus a few tips for wrapping gifts, and a Christmas Cocktail.
I sometimes struggle with the pressures of Christmas, and so this year I have decided to eliminate any stress and just enjoy the simple pleasures of the season. We go into my home in Edinburgh for a cozy, festive treat that will hopefully leave you feeling relaxed and inspired.

Beautiful tree, Nicolas! I agree with you about modern Christmas traditions being very stressful (and not very much fun). My husband and I have taken on a new tradition these past 3 years- we celebrate 12 Days of Christmas. We start on Christmas day and have special things planned each day until Jan 5th. We liked the Medieval style activities, so we've emulated those: we have special meals on certain days, make fancy drinks, play games, bring lots of greenery into the house, enjoy nature by taking hikes, and make a 12th Night cake. It's more about relaxing and spending time together than it is about gifts (or entertaining). It's a quiet, enjoyable time.

It’s so good to hear Nic speaking properly and quietly ( but still audible) and doing the tree without a frantic speed up sequence. The quiet richness of the room. I’m looking forward to just sitting with my family and dogs (staffies) and watching.

Where some people hate dressing the tree, it is my favorite Christmas activity and i just wish i could do that for living! so much joy! i put the vintage Christmas music on, open my special box and get so happy looking at my special decorations, which are an assorted bunch, almost all of them bought separately and on different occasions and so so special. Opening the box once a year I feel like I've found a tenner in a forgotten coat. Happy Festive season!

Nicolas, your tree is just beautiful. I like the fact that you have decorated it with collected items from over the years. It seems recently that people like to do theme trees but I really love yours! It makes a statement of elegance in your beautiful sitting room. The cocktail looks yummy I do love Baileys❤️. I also decorate my New Year tree with collected items, which are the same age with me (73),my daughters and my three grandsons. Some of them (the toys)a re as old as the sea,but the older they are,the dearer for all us.

We tend to make Memory Tree s. Some on our ornaments are 75 years old. They are all kinds. No one particular style. Always an Angel on top. I used to use the silver icicles carefully placed. They got to be way more trouble than I had to put them.on and to clean them up after. I give all my grandbabies an ornament every year. Hopefully they won't have to buy them all at once when they put up their own tree someday. I want you to know how much I appreciate you sharing your tree.I lost my Mom recently. I was her care giver for 7 yrs. During that time we scaled back on our everything. Dinners, decorations, trees got smaller, cookies and decorating them with the babies, everything. When she passed I couldn't even put up a tree. I just couldnt celebrate without her. It's still hard....but I am hoping to be able to do all the wonderful things I remember.

Yes, Christmas can be not only stressful but exhausting. I prefer a present free Christmas. Very stressful to find the perfect gift for everyone and all the people I know already has everything a person can need or want. Therefore I make homemade food for people in need instead. It's very beautiful where you live ❤️ I love Christmas decor but not too much just enough in every place makes it very warm and beautiful or adds a little sparkle. You are 100% correct Christmas can be very stressful especially in these times. I do love to sit by a fireplace with the glow of dim lights whilst listening to the radio of old Christmas music softly playing in the background on low. I do love that you chose two different sizes in lights for the tree it's like looking up into the stars at night. Just beautiful 🎄

Please make one about the vegan lifestyle. Your approach is so lovely and inclusive and will really help others add more plant based foods to their diet. It’s not about being a perfect vegan. With respect as a former vegan this was a very challenging part about that movement but the spirit should be shared

Nic, to really love a tree is to keep older ornaments. Every time you open the storage container, you smile and the memories associated with them rush in. This is why so many ornaments are now “Vintage” and cherished. Keep the beautiful old ones. Start a tradition.

I love the decorated Christmas tree. I place gifts under the Christmas tree belonging to family members. Accessing the Christmas presents and taking them to the recipients is easy since the Christmas trees is in the living-room. Thank you for sharing.
