Bernadette Almeida Nope. Just like the Emitt Till memorial has been vandalized many times and they’ve yet to put cameras up. Emmits case was much more important, FACTUAL and severe. If anybody’s memorial or tribute deserves a camera it would be his.... Btw Christopher Columbus statue didn’t get half of what he and his fellow evil doers did to innocent people that were minding their business..... I wish it was him in the flesh and not a statue that was vandalized!

I don't get why Italians are fighting so hard to celebrate this... Columbus never even set foot on U.S. soil. He sailed to Haiti, the Dominican Republic and South America...but not here. He never "discovered" America. Literally all he did was sail around the Caribbean, kills thousands of innocent people to take gold that they never had, and then he died thinking he had made it to India. In fact, his entire "story" that we learned in school was written by Washington Irving in 1828...the same man who wrote Sleepy Hollow...So all of these Italians are angry about a fictional story that gave them a hero that made them "the more acceptable immigrants" when they came here....meanwhile the message of this vandalism is based on actual facts and actual people, innocent men, women, and children, who were ruthlessly murdered by one of the biggest and most heartless men in History.
