if he had only been given time to look back - in retrospect, with the perspective of 15-20 years… I wonder if he might have thought he had slightly overreacted to 9/11. Maybe militant islamofascism wasnt actually the existential threat to Western civilization he thought it was at the time. Or maybe he will yet be proven right… And I’m not sure he’s got this issue correct either, but so fascinating to hear him talk so presciently about Russia…as if it was 2021 rather than 2008. (11:40 “in what sense does the ‘independence’ of the Baltic States or Georgia constitute encirclement?” C’mon Hitch…imagine Honduras, Belize, and the Bahamas joined the Warsaw Pact. We would absolutely have lost our red white and blue sh*t over it.)
