“If you can charm everyone, it means you don’t care about anyone in particular” That quote has been in my head for so long, very glad to hear it again!
And con-artists quacks like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, Peter Popoff, Joyce Meyer, Robert Tilton, Pat Robertson, Jim Baker and Benni Hinn.
This exact video was on RU-vid years ago with substantially more views and I decided to save it to my computer back then. I quoted from it whilst I was studying the Clinton's back in 2014 alongside his book 'Nobody Left To Lie To'. Somebody else I think has re-uploaded it since, the original view count I think was in the hundreds of thousands.
"Triangulation Policy/Strategy" Substitute Clinton with current Democratic Party and you wouldn't skip a beat. ....Mind Blown. When I watch this clip it reminds me of the the Cheney "Quagmire" interview of the early 90's in a weird way that's hard to describe because the role of the individuals (Cheney vs. Hitchens) is totally opposite.
Christopher detested trump. There's an interview with Chris where he was being asked quick fire questions about how he felt about high profile people and one of them was trump. Chris replied 'well he's a man who's been able to cover 3 quarters of his head with only a quarter of his hair. 🤣
"He has set a new stand for political corruption...." How ruthlessly accurate that statement is and also the observations of Norman Mailer who was also a very astute, political commentator. Mailer's commentary regarding Rockefeller's presidential campaign was chilling to say the least. Christopher Hitchens RIP.
apart of Hitch's legacy is that you don't need him for his thoughts, he always encouraged us to think for ourselves, in a odd way we are all him so think about the current situations for yourself as he would want you to do :)
I know I am not going to live forever and neither are you, but until my furlough here is revoked, I’d like to elbow aside the established pieties and raise my tumbler of JWB 🥃 to the brilliant intellect and beautiful mind of Christopher Hitchens, truly miss the gorgeous bastard, he certainly made a positive impact in my life.
I’m always conflicted. I completely agree with Christopher, Bill was definitely a shady slime ball. But after having that incompetent bozo W in office for 8 years, I go back and appreciate Bills level of intelligence and competency. I don’t think he’s a great human being, but you cannot deny he was a pretty solid president aside from all the personal character issues. You think about Jimmy Carter, absolutely wonderful and incredible man. Very sincere and honest guy who has literally dedicated his life to helping others since his years in office. But if you had to pick between Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton to be president, who would you choose? For me it’s Bill all day long.
Actually I can deny he was a "pretty solid president." What did he do that was solid? The economy? Thank the internet boom for that. He sent Army Rangers into Somalia as part of a nation building exercise...how did that turn out? He actually apologized to Rwandans for the US not intervening in their civil war and stopping genocide, but he never apologized to the families of US military personnel that were killed in Somalia.
Carter didn’t launch military attacks to distract the public from the latest news about his sexual predation of an intern. Carter had character and a moral compass. Clinton had neither. Yeah other presidents have killed people blah blah W! blah blah REAGAN STARTED AIDS! Etc. Go talk about THOSE presidents on THEIR videos.
There was a much earlier upload of this interview by TVO itself with thousands of great, intelligent, funny, and insightful comments, which TV Ontario has removed. I wonder why ...
Keep scrolling in your feed, I'm sure it'll pop up. I grew up thinking Kissinger was a 'good guy' (if we have to either be good guys or bad guys) and got that one wrong, but as an independent liberal I always DESPISED the ClintonS.
Let me tell you, as maddening as it may be, it does seem to me that people truly do live through the times that they are actually meant/made for... They leave and they come _just in time._ History will rhyme in another generation and that will birth the next one. Hop, skip and a jump-- but that's still another 70-100 years for another Hitchens. Too long. Maybe he'll play future-piano, instead.
@@JOXCY maybe check out who was pleading the 5th during the Clinton impeachment. I think he might be referring to a former republican hatchetman turned Clinton cronie, he's a gay guy with blonde hair. I saw an interview of him in time magazine during the 2016 election, but I can't remember his name. I'll have a look through my old time magazine's and see if I can find it, maybe you can online. check out a former republican muckraker known for ugly tactics turned Hillary cronie. Although I might be wrong. Chris was giving the impression of a shady bagman, not a campaign info smear merchant.
What's the name of the man interviewing hitchens in this video? I want to know so I can recommend it to anyone who still defends the Clinton's, there legacy and impact on American politics.
