Love the absurdly hidden in plain sight nomenclature. No effort 'cuz surely one would change their names ... BUT that's exactly what they would expect. Never ignore the "Sub-obvious".
@@jamesbond_and_friendsots of genealogists think he may of got a little too excited about the idea of being descended for Charlemagne. Turns out most Europeans are probably descended from Charlemagne. It's just to do with how family trees work. Since the number of ancestors doubles with each generation, 2 parents, 4 grandparents and so on. By the time you get back to Charlemagnes time you'd have a billion ancestors walking around, more people than were alive. So eveyones family tree has to eventually converge and we are all descend from the same people.
@@ryanwalker8843 Makes sense, yes. Much like how 16 million people are thought to have descended from Genghis Khan. Charlemagne was less rapacious than Khan (to put it mildly), but still had a number of wives and concubines so there’s no doubt a huge number of Europeans are descended from him. I intend to read a biography of him this year, as he is a fascinating figure. It would be interesting to see Christopher Lee’s family tree. I had a quick look on Wikipedia (not the most reliable source, I know), and his mother’s lineage goes back to the 12th century. Barbarossa gave them permission to use the coat of arms of the Holy Roman Empire. I wonder if this is what suggested a link to Charlemagne. One could go on speculating I suppose!
I wonder, when they make a movie about this great man. His greatness does not come from acting, but from the fact that - in the context of his life - acting was just a very small part.
I kinda hope they dont. I dont think any film could do him justice. I feel like a biographical novel would be more appropriate, but even then, would it do him justice?
This guy was an Enigma ! David Carradine used to tell a story about when they both worked together on a movie Bruce lee ( no relation ) wrote a script for called The Silent Flute ! and Christopher would tell Carradine that he could do anything and everything Carradine thought he was just eggaggerating, till he would show him something he'd never seen before on a daily Basis during the movie shoot to the point Carradine became in Awe of him ! its in Carradines autobiography ENDLESS HIGHWAY ! r.i.p. Both 😢❤🙏
@BitcoinMotorist NOT so. I'm an American actor and we certainly do call the bad guys henchman as "The Heavies" . It is not so much a British term as opposed to a older term from the Golden age of cinema. Most young up and coming actors who crave leading man parts are often wary of accepting a "heavy" role as those people often then get stereotyped as only a heavy.

Sir Christopher Lee is my favorite actor ever. The man was an absolute legend. A commando in WWII, an incredible actor, related to Ian Fleming, direct descendant of Charlemagne, friend of JRR Tolkien, and consummate gentleman. His biography reads like an action novel.
He wasnt a commando, also most French/Belgian and Brits are descendants of Charlemagne due to the number of kids he had an how long ago he lived - He’s also been found to have embellished his military service A LOT
@@edwardal7980Maybe but a significant amount of his war time record is under the 100 year rule so we might get to find out in 2046 ish unless they extent the period which they can do if it is deemed too sensitive.
@@TheNoiseySpectatorno one because truth is less believable than fiction and nobody would believe he did what he did, plus due to the nature of what he did a lot of it’s classified so you would need to get either the British PM or his majesty to declassify it
James bond admitting he met his villains as recorded by his cousin. Jokes aside, its so fascinating how much Lee got to discuss such things with great authors like Flemming or Tolkein. He got to play some good villains based on those stories.
"Fleming was my cousin." Sir. Christopher Lee, the fact he was acquainted with so many interesting figures throughout history (he even befriended Tolkien and got his blessing to be Gandalf the Wizard if ever the LotR trilogy made it to film) on top of his amazing acting career makes him the most interesting man in the world. Yes, even in death he still retains that title!
You know, everyone I have met always discounts Pearce Brosnan’s version of James Bond, but I like him! Certainly he’s not the best ever, but I enjoyed his character. What do you think?
Well he's talking about the books, not the films, and apparently in _them_ it was just a pet octopus. So I don't find it that difficult to believe there may have been a matching Real Life equivalent.
I can just imagine Christopher meeting these guys and looking over at Ian who had that "when you're trying to be serious but your buddies making this face" grin.
My dad's friend was the head deer stalker on blackmount estate owned by the Flemming family had some great days out on the hill when i was a kid great days.
The man who schooled Peter Jackson bc he knew what a real person would sound like whilst being stabbed in the back. What a legend. R.I.P. sir Lee. You are missed.
He was a Agent himself on the field during world war two. When in a film he was in. He told the director that when a man is killed by someone cutting there throat from behind they dont make a sound. He said its actually a strange think as there surprised but that makes them freeze. That then really dont make any sound. The director knew his back ground did not ask him how he knew this.
